is it too rush or too much in a day?
Thanks in advance!

Arrival to Tokyo 08.40 (Narita)
Check in Shinjuku
Meet up with colleagues/friends in Japan
tokyo tower

Day 2: 3rd Apr (Sun)
Northern tokyo (ueno park, Asakusa, Sensoji Temple, Nakumise street, Sumida park, Tokyo Sky Tree)

Day 3: 4th apr (mon)
central tokyo (Tsukiji market , imperial palace, imperial garden, Koishikawa Korakuen)
Ghibil museum

Day 4: 5th Apr (tue)
Disneyland

Day 5: 6th Apr (wed)
Disneysea

Day 6: 7th Apr(Thurs)
Mt fuji
stay at kawaguchiko

Day 7: 8th Apr(Fri)
Hakone
Gotemba outlet
return back to tokyo or should i stay at hakone?

Day 8: 9th Apr (Sat)
western tokyo (Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuku, Shinjuku gyeon nation garden, Yoyogi park, Meiji Shrine, Takeshita street)

Day 9: 10th Apr (sun)
odaiba, Depart from Narita, 5pm

the pace is generally alright.

maybe day 8 is a little packed. but since u staying in Shinjuku, u can cover parts of it throughout the trip, so maybe still can manage.

odaiba is actually quite beautiful at night. so maybe u will want to swap it to another day so u can enjoy the night view of rainbow bridge.

ghibli museum tickets are hard to get, so make sure to book it as soon as u reach japan.

Hi all,

My other half has decide to travel to hokkaido in end dec. Its rather rush now. Have not been there before, its going to be our 1st time in Hokkaido, so will need some help. Just book our air tickets (which I consider rather expensive given this short notice to our trip) but anyway, I came up with a draft plan, so I can book my hotel and car first before working in detail on the itinerary, hope can receive some advice.

Thanks.

Day 1: Arrive at New Chitose Airport 0930hrs
> pick up car > will do some winter shopping if required at Chisetose outlet mall Rera.
> if its still early, will head to Lake Shikotsu
> Drive to Noboribetsu (Stay 1 Night @ Noboribetsu)

Day 2: Stay 1 Night around Lake Toya area

Day3 : Head to Niseko (Stay 3 nights)
> intend to learn skiiing. Partner wants to learn.

Day 4 : Niseko

Day 5 : Niseko

Day 6 : Leave Niseko, head to Otaru. (Stay 1 night @ Otaru)

Day 7 : Leave Otaru for Sapporo. Return car at Sapporo.

Day 8 : Sapporo

Day 9 : Sapporo and leave for airport at 1700hrs.

Was thinking if i should cut short Niseko to 2 nights and have 1 more night in Sapporo.

My travel dates is from end dec to early jan.

Thanks.

any reason for staying a night at otaru? if not, how about staying in sapporo and making a day trip by train to otaru from sapporo. it is only 640yen, about 45min by train from sapporo to otaru. that way u can lessen the hassle of changing hotel, and save on one day of car rental

what have u planned for sapporo? if u dun have enuf time for the places u planned to go, then maybe can cut short niseko. it will be a lot friendlier on ur wallet :p
coz accom is definitely more ex at ski resort, and u have more days of car rental but the car is probably going to be left idle at the resort

u can refer to this page for autumn leave places in tokyo:
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e3061.html

most of the places listed are parks and garden in the city, which i feel isnt really that nice. will be good to travel out of the city if u want to see autumn leaves. e.g. to mt takao

however, ur itinerary already has lots of travelling. may be quite tiring to be travelling long distance almost everyday. maybe skip hakone/gotemba for this trip? coz it is going to be quite rush to cover these 2 places as a day trip

i think it is quite rush to go all the way to shirakawago just for the 2 days. shirakawago is in a different region altogether and it is a long way there.

http://www.japanican.com/en/tour/detail/F800/?category=182&typecd=TOU&destcd=M04&ms=1&sbit=4,9

I haven't taken such tours before, so dunno how is it.

I guess if it covers the places u want to go, u can give it a try. it is probably more expensive than going on ur own, but u dun have to worry about planning and getting ard and u have English guide explain things

u mean for getting to lake kawaguchi?

if u are going by train, from Shinjuku or Tokyo, u can take JR Chuo line to Otsuki station, then change to Fujikyu line to Kawaguchiko station.
refer to here:
http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6905.html

highway bus will be cheaper and more convenient.

Hi guys,

I'm planning a trip to Tokyo-Osaka in late march / early april. First solo and first time to japan hence budget is rather tight. Currently this is my planned itinerary. Have yet to fix what I want to see within each day, but these are the cities I am planning to go :

Day 1 - Arrival in Tokyo
Day 2 - Tokyo
Day 3 - Tokyo
Day 4 - Tokyo
Day 5 - Tokyo
Day 6 - Tokyo Day trip -> hakone -> Kyoto(Start of JR PASS)
Day 7 - Kyoto
Day 8 - Kyoto
Day 9 - Kyoto
Day 10 - Kyoto Day trip to Nara -> Osaka
Day 11 - Osaka Day trip to Hiroshima & Miyajuma
Day 12 - Osaka Day trip to Himeji (end of JR PASS)
Day 13 - Osaka
Day 14 - Osaka

I'm getting very confusing information from different people and I can't decide whether to take the willer express bus or get the JR pass..
Also, making the trip 13D12N is considerably cheaper than this 14D13N hence I am not sure which city to cut out if I do decide for the 13D.

I will need to book my flights by tomorrow latest.
Could someone enlighten me? :)

IMO, cut out Osaka if you need to. But you actually spend only 2 days there, if you take out one day there, you wont be spending much time in osaka, personally I don't think you will miss out much though.

Group the Hiroshima/Himeji/Odawara(Hakone) within the 7 days, you will make the JR pass worth.
