hi i am torn between the data sim card from klook and changi wifi. the data sim card is cheaper but im worried that it will use a different number which makes me uncomfortable as i may need to be contactable. whereas the wifi egg from changi i have used before so im confident that my number will not be changed.
any advise on whether the data sim plan will change my number?

You use the wifi egg, you original sim card will not work also mah. The wifi egg only gives you data. Your sim card will not be able to receive calls that are not data/wifi enabled.

The data sim card does the same thing. It gives you data just like what the wifi egg does.

those japan sim card after you take out your own sim card from phone and put it in, your whatsapp etc still can use as per normal, no problem. But will not be able to receive mobile phone call to your phone since your sg sim card already taken out. If you tell your friend or family this japan sim card number (if this is not data only), they will be able to call you at the japan sim card number but why call you through japan mobile number if they can continue to whatsapp call you

Huh? Why won't the original sim card work when he has WiFi egg? Original sim card will still work with SMS and calls as long as he has pay-as-you-roam or autoroam as part of his postpaid plan in SG.

I'm always getting SMS-es from SG companies and organizations while overseas even when I'm connected to Changirecommends portable WiFi.

Using a dual SIM phone, configure the first SIM for calls and second SIM for data.

I bought my DoCoMo sim card from carousell. Had to put the jap sim card as sim 1 and my m1 card as sim 2 which is a non issue. I also rented the changi wifi. Both coverage equally good but Japan sim card seems to slow down after around 3gb of usage

As long as you don't change whatsapp's number or log out, youll be able to use WhatsApp linked to your local number (circles life)

I use m1 data passport once during my first trip, back then only 10+2..The issue is need to conserve local data before trip unless it's big data plan.

Surprisingly the changireco orange mifi i rented recently has very good battery life. Morning around 7-8am go out until 8pm go back, still got juice to last another 2-3 hours..

The PB i bring along nv use at all..
