Seems like eight 18 dollar 5G plan is the most worth it plan

If you are using it even the 8 dollar plan and upgrade to 18 dollar plan for the month you are travelling to japan

it comes with 36gb APAC including Japan and 18gb international roaming including japan

so total data is 36+18=54gb and can also try its 5G plan in Singapore then next cycle revert to original plan

$12 plan enough for 7 days 6 nights? Because using GPS to drive and walk also
Only you know how much data is needed. Also a simple Google search will tell you roughly how much data is needed for ur case. Roaming esim is readily available on shopee. Take ur pick.

Before you go for your trip, download Google offline maps for the city you are going. This will reduce lots of data usage on maps. I did it always for any of my trips.

simba $12 plan should have 8GB, and for 7 days, it should be enough if you don't surf social media, insta and tiktok alot

I just got back from Tokyo and the sct sim card I bought on Lazada was virtually useless.

supposed to be 1gb a day but
disconnecting every few minutes (needibg a airplane mode cycle or reboot too) and super slow. my simba card was faster and didn't disconnect.

I bought sct esim 2gb a day for my Tokyo vacation from Shopee and had different problems. Mine would stay connected, but had low signal, usually 3 digits in dBm, for all major telco providers. I use the app wifiman to measure the signal and it was always worse than my Singtel roaming. I bought ICC top up Sim halfway and it was close to Singtel data roaming signal levels. So there is a quality difference when you buy the cheaper Sim. This cheapo esim is probably only good enough for use on a secondary device like a tablet. Your mileage may vary.

You can use chatgpt if you manually set the APN for this esim. But it was not worth the hassle of constantly changing from NTT to Softbank and to KDDI to hunt for strong cellular signals.
