Uh brah, if you have lurked on Head-fi long enough you would have known the usual suspect stores for audio shopping there plus admin Currawong from Head-fi has written an article before for directions on getting to e-Earphone store, not to even mention in the past I believe I have mentioned the names of these stores several times on this forum sub-section. I will just try to spoonfeed once again since I'm always known as the Goodman ard in here.
:s13::s13:

Fujiya-Avic (located in Nakano Broadway shopping arcade 3rd floor):

e-Earphone (Akihabara branch, I haven't personally been to the Osaka Nipponbashi one yet so I can't give advice for detailed directions):

e-Earphone branch outlet in Akiba just recently re-located from their old location to new location in early July, although i have only been to their old store the new store is much easier to find IMO, it's just located West exit of Akihabara station, along the Chuo Line of the Yamanote-sen. (Your own direction north should alway be facing towards Ueno if you are arriving via the Chuo Line sub-way route)

The new e-Earphone location is also very near Akihabara UDX building (first 4 floors catered to restaurant and shops with the 4th floor usually holding anime events, you shouldn't miss this building cos it's a 15th storey high building with banners ard the building plastered indicating it as Akiba Ichi UDX) If in doubt, please use this area map directions for detailed instructions on locating this building. e-Earphone's new location is just beside this building and the Daibiru building. Prominent cafe/eateries located ard these buildings include a Tully's Coffee and a Sukiya restaurant just nearby.

Hope the above helps.

Oh btw I forgotten abt one more matter, which I think alot of pple will care abt. If you are only interested in buying audio stuffs from the above-mentioned stores by making use of the 8% foreigner duty-free tax refund policy, just to be clear only Fujiya-Avic offers this policy along with majority of electronic chain stores there such as Yodobashi Camera/Bic Camera/SofMap outlets. I can confirm that e-Earphone does not have this policy as I was just there during June period.

And in order to make use of the 8% tax refund, you will need to purchase above 10,000 yen in value (sub-total value not inclusive of their domestic tax) so please calculate yr items cost properly before approaching the sales staff at the counter regarding claiming this tax refund.

You're welcomed RockaRolla. Anyway I should just give a heads-up and mentioned abt a minor mistake that i had made in one of my prev post. In one of my posts I mentioned that the Akihabara UDX building ard the vicinity got some popular cafe outlets, the name of the cafe outlet is not supposed to be named Sully's Coffee but Tully's Coffee. Sorry for the mix-up abt the 1st letter but I was remembering the places vaguely based on my prev visit and it has been a couple mths since then so I do apologise for the minor mistake there.

Have fun with your JP trip! If managed to hoot anything pls do kindly share with us in the Share yr Hoots thread ya?

Sorry I'm a bit confused. If the shop does not offer 8% foreigner duty-free tax refund, can I still do it at the airport?

I'm going Japan in Nov and I am looking at some Sony stuff. Thanks.

Just read an article. Japan has just lowered the minimum spending needed in a single transaction to be eligible for tax exemption. Previously the amount had to be above 10,000 yen (~$120 SGD). But from October 1 2014, the amount has been lowered to 5,000 yen (~$60 SGD).

However, their consumption tax is expected to rise to 10% next October.

No worries iAHBee, thank you for the clarification. I still thought you gonna ignore Gootman bcos I nv manage to help u find the CK7 during my prev trip.
:(:(

Gx gx on yr plans for dropping by the land of rising sun soon. So now since you have most of the Private series by Suyama-san liao, maybe this time can ask him to help you craft the FitEar my room 111L edition for you like finally, world's 1st custom universal order ever.
:s13::crazy:

This one is prolly 100/100 confirmed news since I got it from Fujiya blog directly, I don't think this has been mentioned anywhere by AnakChan on Head-fi's Fujiya Autumn 2014 Festival thread but it seems for the upcoming Fujiya show to be held on both the Oct 25th/26th, Suyama-san will be showcasing 1 of his latest universals that had been teased for quite a long while as seen on FitEar main homepage. They didn't mentioned any specific names yet but I suspect in terms of drivers implementation, this will prolly fill up the gap btw the Parterre and TG334, so this will very likely be a 3-driver BA model though it is just my own speculation that's all.

There will also be anothe Astell & Kern based collabration model based on the same universal model as well, this one is pretty much confirmed as I have seen pics of this leaked somewhere liao. Just some minor tidbits to share with a FitEar manwhore that's all.

Thanks for the kind heads-up LBBEF. In that case I stand corrected then, just found out by browsing thru japan-guide's website and their FAQ page have indeed been updated to reflect upon this latest information. My sincere apologies to everyone on this thread for not giving the latest updated correct information here in regards to the minimum purchasing value required in order to be eligible for tax exemption. More info can be found here for those interested to find out more regarding the latest changes.
