When I bought my jh16 jaben quoted me 1.8+ with about 2 months wait time. I ordered direct with express shipped + cost of ear impression and JH shipping back all in all about 1.7 with only 2 weeks turn around.

To calculate your costs just add cost of:
1) Ear impressions $65
2) Shipping if express fedex,Dhl etc $50-70
3) Your IEM $xxxx
4) + Shipping from JHA to you I think $70?

But now sale period turn around time might be longer so not sure how much faster if direct vs jaben.

For point (1) is professional audiologist do your impression instead of jaben staff but so far never hear much complains about jaben not doing it right.

For point (2) you can save some money if you ship by snail mail but takes at least 2 weeks to reach USA.

Disclaimer* the prices I mentioned above were based on 1.3 exchange rate few years back so it might be off a bit now.

For my purchase of JH16Pro from JHA, the shipping cost from US to Singapore is included in the ciem price. I was not charged anything else beside the impression cost and shipping to US.

i cant decide get from where now price diff is about 250....

calculating the roxanne carbon

From JHA
1799x0.8(discount)x1.25(bank rate)=1799SGD
64.90 for impressions
80 to ship impressions by DHL 2 working days reach max 3 days ( can use cheaper option but during sales its about how fast you can get ur impressions there)
how much is jh shipping of customs back?

bank wouldnt charge u live rate. they will charge u at least 1.29 or above :s13:

mhvp pmed you on some stuff.

cheers

@Patrick I didn't get charged for gst. Some ppl mentioned that JHA declared only $400usd (which prolly covered their cost)

@fraven hmm... maybe I didn't get charged for shipping back. Was few years ago so I may not have rmb clearly. All I rmb was I compared order direct vs jaben can save at least $100+, plus 2 weeks vs 2 months turn around which was a big plus as I'm not so patient.

Oh wow I have to say Jaben's prices are pretty competitive this time round. Wonder if I should go direct or w Jaben... Any opinions?

For those who are procrastinating whether to get your JHA customs via Jaben or directly, this are my personal experience and I would like to share with everyone here.

I had a JH16 which I ordered through Jaben during a no-sales period, which I paid the full amount without the 20% black friday sales or occasional 15% sales. The reason I decided to go with Jaben is through a humble advice from my friend who got his JH13 via last year's Black Friday Sales.

He was like most of us, wanting to save as much as we can to get the best sound we desire. He was planning to spend the money which Jaben so called "overpriced" to get a decent aftermarket cable. Therefore after much consideration and calculations with shipping fees and ear impressions fee, he ultimately decided to get it directly. Long story short, he had a perfect fit after 2 refits, which he ended up paying 2 extra cost of (ear impression + shipping fees)

Going through Jaben is like buying an insurance, a mind of ease If something really went wrong. But If you are really positive that your audiologist and JH Audio will be doing a good job by giving you a perfect fit on the first attempt, I don't see why should you not go direct :), at a risk to certain extend of course.

Regarding rumors of the incompetency of Jaben doing ear impressions as compared to local recommended audiologist. Uncle Wilson and his team had been doing ear impressions since as long as half a decade ago, he is good at what he does. Therefore, fret not.

Personally I have 2 customs which ear impressions are made in Jaben, perfect fit for both on first try.

The choice is ultimately up to you guys. But overall, a more cost efficient way to get a pair for this Black Friday sales would definitely be going directly. (Pray hard it fits on the first try)

Cheers :s12::s12::s12:

My Home Minister gives me the green light to go for JH customs, as long as I sell my TG!334 to recoup the cost.
Now deciding whether to go for the tried-and-tested JH13 or the Roxanne in full CF
Will be ordering from Jaben tomorrow..... so will sleep on it tonight
