I just checked my Garmin activities and it stated it was 32 deg where Strava 31 deg...1 deg difference but I think it matters a lot .

I used to carry bottle and brought to the stadium but now I depend on the water cooler over there to hydrate myself. Most of the time the water it is not that cold

Tonight can have a session, now only ~ 30 deg C heat index temp.

Later, even if it rises a bit more, shd be hovering 31 to 32 max for heat index.

Tmr morning ought to be nice as well.

7-Eleven Run

Wasn’t expecting much going into the race since never specifically trained for 10km. Idea was to start at Sub 40 pace and see how it goes. The only struggle was after 6km and the only person in front of me was Nichole with a 40-50m gap. If not for her, I will surely have bonked real hard. When my watch beeped 10km, I thought it was over but a 200m plus upslope awaited us. Oh well

Strava said my official 10km PB is 39:17 but official course results is 40:43. The journey to hit Sub 40 continues haha.

Wow that is an amazing 2.4km timing
Thanks! This is my best IPPT result, even compared to my NS days. I did a lot better for both my push ups and sit ups.

Congrats, you ran sub-40 10k, I was there at the race. Though I didn't run the 10k, the upslope was quite brutal for an ending. I think the times ran by the other runners were also slower than usual.

Official results no Sub 40 la. I realised the top 3 ladies never take water one while I grabbed every water possible from every station lol hahaha

KNN that Matt Fox natural athlete one, middle aged and stopped for what 1 year coz of some family/medical issues (??), became quite fat at nearly 90kg and now within 6 months can bounce back and run 15:07 for 5k. Which is literally top-level in Singapore's running context.
edit - i think he has some hypothyriodism or autoimmune issue or something.

For the vast vast majority of us middle to senior aged, train for 5 years if super heng super consistent maybe can get sub-20 in a parkrun, then we all super happy top of the world liao, maybe Strava even can get 100 kudos from running club friends. Alas, majority would still be stuck in the 22-25 min range.

But then, let that serve as a source of motivation.

If he can get 15 mins 5k, so can you. 3:10 FM or whatever.

No bloody excuses! 🦵💪💪

don't mean to pour cold water. SRY's best 5k timing on the roads is 15m 8s set in UK in 2024. 14m 36s on track in 2026. i believe.
imho unrealistic to target 5km under 15 on a road run in Singapore heat and humidly. Going under 18m or 17m is a great feat by itself irregardless of age.

361 LF SL, owners (@GlassDoor ). Do you find the ankle collar pad smells? I have two pairs , both smell quite bad. Even the peppa pig, new one, used only once for a long run, super soaked with sweat. Wash with plain water, next the day the ankle collar there quite smelly.

after 1st run. i let it dry naturally and smells after. after that I use the fan to blow dry for 30mins to 60 mins then dry naturally if not 100% dry. So far so good for both pairs. Had the same issue with adios 9. will smell like u operated a salted fish fastory if u dry it naturally. strong fan blow dry for an hour did the trick. And all these shoes are so minimum that 1hr will also dry them completely even if soaking wet.
ps.. have not washed both LF SL before. but the shoes are almost always soaking wet after run.
