jogging and motivation thread

im also trying to start jogging back again.. nov and dec slack and partied too hard.. now run abit leg pain here pain there pain

Just start small, like 2km at first, then every week + 5% distance.
1 week, 2 weeks, 3, 4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11, 12 weeks. You'll hit 5k, and then 10k eventually. No need to care about timing and pace at first until you can hit close to 10k, then you decide what to do next.

I wait for Alpha 4 is out than start looking at Alpha 3... LOL.


Can set your next destination to Gold Coast. Heard that it is a very flat course. Maybe sub 3 for you...
@Skyrillex yeah when I had video call with Soh Rui Yong that time when inquiring about the academy, he said easiest to do pb for marathon is flat courses such as gold coast. He even said he can get me a spot but with baby I am not going anytime soon haha. Definitely can sub 3 at gold coast for Skyrillex, but should try to heal the leg fully first

Too far liao, for first run/walk. If this week your pain is gone are going to have another session, better to start small like what i have said earlier 2km is plenty. Then slowly add weekly total mileage by 5-10% range.

Never go for another session if your pain is still there. It wont work one.

Too bad you can't go ahead with SRY's training. I am sure you will benefit from the it. For me, after viewing his insta story, I think my level can't catch up with his training. My fitness not there. He probably wouldn't accept me, coz of my low VO2max. LOL...

For me my reason is gonna be easy. Bonus this yeah VWS + AWS 0.8 months only. :cry: Next 2 weeks gonna receive it before CNY.

So, i cannot afford these stuff.

Do AHM, happy and be contented can liao.

I would love to try out Gold Coast one day but probably not this year as I'll have quite a bit of commitments irl. Maybe just continue training and participate 1 or 2 local race but that's it. And yeah @sph777 you're right I need to let my leg get healed up first.

This year, for the first half, seems a bit dry for races. Only popular race are the 2Xu and Buff Forest Force run.

No sound from Sundown and Income Eco Run which suppose to be in the first half of the year. I intend run Sundown and Eco run if it is cheap enough.

don't worry you have company.
start with baby steps, walking, then increase distance then increase pace. commit to consistency, soon you will be back to where you were.

Running addiction is a serious problem in our society. Up for awareness.




Even more worrying is the addiction had spread to kids,



Jokes aside, this kid has lots of potential.

Honestly I think just stick with what works. I think your own training with the AI guides is good enough :)

Ya, will be sticking to this AI for SCSM 2024. Might add in Sundown and one more HM. That's all the races I intend to use the AI for.

The thing is I rmb signing up for sundown 2024 to make up for 2023 pulling out halfway with plantar but now can't find the email of confirmation and online also no dates of the event. My colleague also remembered signing up with me but he too also cannot find the email.

Sundown seems now in the limbo. Base on history, they should start registration for the public by the SCSM 2023 REPC. That is last month. Already January ending, still no news.
