This one must go because it's the most established one ☝️

You can meet all the Elite Runners from around the world.
Bro I went once 5km run...shiok.
After jog, cold towel , shiok.
Plenty of drinks n bananas ...

Till now I am clueless what is zone 2.
I feel if haven't probably do hr zoning, just go by rpe. They will say it's a pace where you can have a conversation all the way, easy enough to just breath thru nose.

If you walk, your heart rate will be low, you should be roughly the same as me.

I feel very comfortable when my heart rate is below 125.

So when you slow jog, your heart rate should be low to achieve a low heart rate. Though time, your hr will slowly accelerate but the more you run, you will notice that your hr will be more in control.

That's why one should run slowly to go faster.

How's your Skechers Run ?
Do you feel exhausted after the run ?
Can you run another 10K after that ?

If your pace is easy enough then running another 10K shouldn't be any problem.

The only problem is your leg will feel fragile after that.

Not really a good idea to race 10km twice a month since need to re-taper again. Would be better to just concentrate on the 5k in end August. Could get in mile speedwork in June, 3k speedwork in July and 5k speedwork in August.

This 10k race would mean that I skip out on mile speedwork and go straight to 3k.

Also, another pressing problem is that I can't even execute a 8km threshold run at 4.15 min/km, due to stitch. Not something I can fix in 2 weeks. Even if I fix it, I need to convert that to 9km, then I have the confidence to run a proper 10km.

Can try Great Green Run, 3 hr time limit for 10km (12 Oct)
I see. Jia you for the 5km training

Zone 2 is a pace where you can run easily for long period of time without getting exhausted.

When you run in Zone 2, you can breathe and talk easily just like walking.

yup, when one runs on zone 2 with a fitness watch, one can see the recovery % does not drop too much after the run.
