Actually i might just run up Benjamin Sheares bridge if it should get too tough.

Employ other muscles to climb up. Then aero chiong down. Faster and more efficient than using lowest gear to climb (multiple times at that)

Really too tough liao. And got overheating risk (esp with TT helmet)

Actually those into running ultras can also try Everesting.
Haven't heard of it though......or maybe there already have been attempts on that?

The good thing is that most parts it is very sheltered from the sun. Coz it will get into the daylight hrs.

I really don't know how am I going to complete my HM 🥲
SCSM or Garmin run? I think the SCSM cut off timing is quite generous, so employ the Run, walk, run. Don't wait until your leg are fatigue than walk, you will never recover back decently. Engage walking way before the fatigue set in that will make you go further and less painful.

If not enough time for periodize training, the alternative is to make your run less painful. Previously I suggested the Run walk run. I am not familiar with this method.
I propose this, just do easy run, with more back to back for training. No 80/20, just 100% of your run is easy, with focus to increase mileage with each run than the previous run. If possible do a couple of them back to back, e,g, Mon/Tue - >11K/12K at easy pace. And another day for the week focus to do LSD at >14 - 17km at easy, with walks if necessary.... The week prior to race reduce mileage half or less. There are people who do 100% of their runs at easy pace and then just enjoy the race like another LSD session. Take photo along the way, alot less painful this way.

So fast already September liao.., running activities/mileage had a slight dip in August due to holidays mainly but still took the time to train up whenever i can.

I'll be moving to the north-east region too starting from next month so hopefully i can get to run at Punggol/ECP tracks, and of course test my new shoes for Garmin Run firstly. :s8:

Have a good rest, now recuperate and drink more water. Before run must eat well

Painful = need NSAIDs, seriously speaking. No 2 ways. And prob at your stage probably need 120mg or even 200mg if there is noticeable swelling. Gotta abstain from any physical exercises at this stage for a good few days also until it subsides, then you do your whatever rehab that you wanna do.
Unless if you have internal bleeding risk.

Go hoot arcoxia / generic etericoxib, if you dont believe me can go get from GP (with CHAS disc cheap cheap)

My wife's and my experience be it for sprains or these running niggle pains is that is quite noticeably better than naproxen sodium, ibuprofen, dicofenac sodium.

If not, dont even have to think about Garmin or maybe SCSM.

Once somwhat recently I also had a (very) small kneecap niggle, a bit tight when squatting down......didnt bother with it, continued zone 1/2 riding. Progressed to pain. Hooted curcuwin and only did zone 0 riding within 30km, pain still progressed.

After 1 week hooted 3 days 90mg arcoxia. Totally resolved, 2 more days of curcuwin, resumed zone 2-3 training, and after that 1 more day hoot threshold intervals liao. No issue

Sometimes you just need to hoot SHUTDOWN and RESET button one, cannot SLEEP mode.
Maybe for us in 50s/60s, it's like that........more susceptible to kena inflammation and then runaway effect liao

I always get my Arcoxia hoots (90mg) from coy doc, just said pain due to exercise. 2-3 days + arcoxia 10 pcs.
But you must be vigilant about GI issues. They also gave famotidine and/or omeprazole (more ex) but i never take, no issue with pain / bleeding.
