Hi Guys, how long do you hit back to running after flu & cough?

Start slow and do shorter distance if necessary.

Don't chiong right after recovery because you thought been missing alot. There's always time later to level up.
Read somewhere, some light exercise is good for recovery, be it injury or illness.

Thank for sharing. good to know and i will try. :)
This time i will try meditation running without listening to music by focusing on my breathing method. Usually i will breathe in from nose 2x and breathe out from mouth 2x.

10k PB (41.38)

  • Done in hot weather yesterday
  • Self-paced
  • No carbon-plate shoes
  • Drank 1750 ml of water before running 10k
Will gun for 40.30 10k next for interval workouts after 2.4km training ends in mid november.

I am taking a break from running today. Tomorrow will be doing intervals. But my intervals for this week will be fairly relaxed, easier than last week. Will be doing 5 x 600m at 2 minute rest tomorrow

Age is one factor, but more than half of my army batch around the same age as me fail IPPT (2.4km run).

Mileage per week is a better predictor of runner performance, though not always accurate but I put in a lot of effort each week to run 55km (~5 hours/week).

Age is a factor but still it's all relative isn't it.

I have come across a non-descript fella (ie not some club runner competing which can still be sub-16 fast), age 61 .........5k timing 17:26. Just shave off some mins if compared with younger lads. (most prob this fella if in his 20s can do sub 15 totally no issue at all)

One triathlete just managed to sneak in sub 14 for 5k mid 30s.......and that's not all, he can also swim and cycle very fast coz multi-discipline sport.

For 10k, the Two Running Brooms not bad, the char boh age 60 i think around 41 mins PB too.
The best even at that age for women still is comfortably sub-40, in a way, grandmother also can run faster......

And then of coz at one end of the extreme, Bekele and Kipchoge i think reach 50s they still faster than our SG national distance records without even having to try very hard. :ROFLMAO:
