Is this gel thick like the GU brand? Asking cause I personally tried both GU and SIS but i find GU abit hard to swallow at times during runs. Then had to faster drink water LOL else it'll be too sticky for my liking.

For SIS gels slightly better cause not so thick but idk why its more prone to stomachache for me :frown:.

Never see before, but see online review say that its quite sweet.
It isn't very think. Definitely thicker than isotonic drinks but less thick than the free gels at the stations. I think if you want, can try at least before the race. Decathlon sells also.

Current Heat Index temperature for South side is now 25.4 deg C
In fact north side is 23.8 deg C heat index

Better pray for this on SCSM Sunday morning so that you all can VTEC. :ROFLMAO:

There is a huge difference between 35 deg C heat index and 25 deg C heat index

PSA today got some Garfield run. The whole bay east to the area under Sheares bridge and down to MBS may be crowded like the Doraemon run. In fact the bay east bridge only left one lane open to public

Indeed, today's weather is ideal for a race. Even up to 11am, it's not so bad, the air is still cool. Let's hope this will keep up till next Sunday.

Never tried
Just now googled abit, and found out the company name is KODA. I tried them last year, can't remember how it was, but that is a good thing, means it's tolerable for me both in my gut and taste.

Solid conditions this early morning, cycling gangs also all out full force. lol.
It's as good as it gets here in SG, 25-26 deg C heat index.

Actually if SCSM stations got provide sponges / ice packs every 5K, it can be pretty optimal one. Some folks use tricks like palmar cooling holding the pack in an alternating manner between the hands. If using triathlon suit then just plonk it into the suit front/back also can. Or can also be on the head (cap) or alternate between that and the body.
If already suitably heat trained, you drop a few deg C and got good thermo support, this in most cases might give a noticeable extra kick.

Actually if can rope in wife or kid on bike to hand you additional ice packs at pre-arranged strategic stretches if really serious. :ROFLMAO: Use whatsapp for last min near real-time updates . :ROFLMAO:
No need to spend few thousand dollars go overseas ba.

Transient should be ok, just dont be like that matthew choi e-bike NYC marathon incident can liao.

My family won't wake so early on a Sunday morning. LOL.

Anyway for potential podium runners, don't take 'assistance' from friends, family or even your running club. Not even a piece of refreshing fruit or wet towel. Can result in a disqualification. So if one day you wanna try to gun for the 10k prize money locals category, take note. Only IAAF certified course is serious. Other races I don't know, but probably they don't care.

I think vast vast majority of SGreans won't see the prize money for other races.

And then for SCSM this kinda grade Elite cat i think impossible to win. heh......
Not sure if even SRY can make it to top 8 (8th position is usd 1k and 4th @ 5k....kinda ridiculous if you ask me)
edit - ok......quick research, eveb SRY is ineligible to enter coz not fast enough result to enter.

I think for the local elite runners, more of winning local grade position / timing to get brands endorsements and ambassadorship as extra part time $$$. Then can also help as proof to run their own sports biz / coaching biz etc. ie Some national triatheles and cyclists do it this way, offering their own professional services free lance or attached to a sports coy doing sports massage or physio or whatever, earn way more.

Remember Pocari 2.4. Like this. ( anyway i dont have a single brooks shoe)
