Reminded me during my walk in pcn overheard people donating 15buck each and traveling 1hr from jurong to punggol to walk 3km in an event
Last time a decade ago, I used to go these runs 5km 10km, some runs like passion run, ntuc income run, Jurong Lake Run, and standard chartered marathon run. Realised after a few years, its just a waste of money when I can simply run these on my own around the Lake or pcn. Save the money, buy better running kit than special running singlet and be walking advertisements.

I would not mind if the 10k is a proper race on proper roads (or majority is road). Coz the feel is there.

But most times is just put some cones at the usual MBS/Stadium areas/routes

Nicoll highway and extending to some parts of Durian head/merlion/1 marina blvd is a MUST for such races. So basically AHM or SCSM

Bobian. A lot of logistics and clearence just to block off an entire stretch of road just for running. Reckon only the bigger races like 2XU and Standchart can do that.

QD PB 5.0 - 10/5
Evo SL - 24/5
Novablast 5 - 4/6

Average 70km per week. Think another 2 pairs of shoes will be good for my rotation. Can last for another 2 x 12 weeks training cycle.

I see those china brand shoes mentioned here mostly are plated racers. Any recommendations for non-plated daily trainers? Think its high time to retire my Asics NB5. Never keep track but most probably clocked more than 1000km on them and the foam has lost its "pop" or bounciness a long time ago. Currently its feels no different from wearing $30 army emart shoe.
乔丹强风3TR

匹克千层浪
安踏旅步2(PG7)
李宁赤兔8pro

above are some for your consideration

If you like NB5, think you have to look at those with extra cushioning.

I find NB5 to be too clunky for me but as an easy day shoe, just got to ride it out till the end haha.

Another consideration is Mizuno Sky Wave 8.

I bought during 6.6 for $120 after voucher and coins discount on Lazada.

But I still like Evo SL the best hahaha.

Very all rounder shoe. Easy, tempo and long run. Not sure whether can handle threshold at around 4.15-4.20km/min pace.

安踏旅步2(PG7) & 乔丹强风3TR could be appropriate. Both are available at around RMB200.

Read a few posts here about QD 3TR so decide to give it a try since it's really affordable (compared to the western brands). I got it for 243 RMB inclusive for air shipment and took 5 days to reach my doorstep. Bought on the 6th evening and arrived on the 11th.

So far, had 2 runs with the shoes. Mostly similar to what the video had said. Soft, some energy return (very little), a smooth ride. The narrow mid sole means the stability may be a tad lesser and I can feel it since my stability isn't the best. Toe box is big enough for me and you may want to buy half a size bigger.

Very reasonable daily trainer at this price point (200-240 RMB). Was surprised that the video mentioned the shoes cost 130 AUD on AliExpress. They have a bad deal...

mine arrived today.
wore at home walked around and compared with BMAI 远征者5.0 & PEAK 千层浪. Forefoot feels tighter than both, midsole feels softer than both and its quite similar to 远征者5.0, but sinks in abit more. Both 远征者5.0 & 千层浪 feel more comfortable when I walked around, but it could be they are more seasoned.
this evening had my first run in this shoes. First I felt was it's bouncy. While running, I felt it deformed or compress a lot. I think what most of you call soft? Not really to my liking as there might by some stability issue when the mid sole depressed unevenly. Need to acclimatize if I were to use this for long runs like >21km.

The ride, a slight rocker geometry which is enough to give the push for a enjoyable tempo run for me it's 5:30 to 6 min/km. But mostly for this run, I did 6:10 min/km, and shoe was also great. It's quite versatile in this manner. The only concern for my is just the stability due to the soft cushion.

Also I find the cushion is thick, close to max cushion shoes without the weight and plush padding. Suitable for long runs, if the stability is not an issue for you.

Just received test result......Everything ok.

Seems like heart is still good and low risk for heart attack. (hs-CRP and CK / Creatine Kinase, a heart enzyme of sorts....). This is the next best thing other than doing the various specific cardiac screening packages.
Seems like no issue with whey intake also (i strive to hit 1.5g/kg/day and supplement around 35-40g of protein from whey).
All the hoot with sugary drinks (redbull etc) / carbs like gummies and snickers etc seems to be ok but then seriously i dont hoot a lot and i focus on taking food / carb loading whenever possible......(but then i also strength train and focus on gaining muscle etc)
Tumour markers and FOBT all ok, i think i shall not go poke a-hole anytime soon.,,,,i did 2x before.

Glucose (Fasting) 4.2 mmol/L (3.9 - 6.0)
HBA1C 4.5 %

Creatinine 59 umol/L (35 - 83)
eGFR 107 ml/min/1.73m2

INFLAMMATORY MARKERS (BLOOD) RESULT UNIT REF.RANGE
hs-CRP C- 0.83 mg/L

CARDIAC MARKERS (BLOOD) RESULT UNIT REF.RANGE
CK
83 U/L (26 - 192)

BP also i usually ownself measure every week, healthy range comfortably below pre-hypertensive

Oh yeah, eggs, daily 2-4 eggs without fail ...... no issue with cholesterol, no issue with triglycerides . Triglycerides a bit low tho...... Triglycerides 0.98 mmol/L (1.70 - 2.20)
But doc said i most probably cannot be low/malabsorption in nutrition, so no need to worry.

Only thing is blood calcium a bit on the high side. Prob due to D3 supplementation (5k IU on most days, plus weekends a bit exposure to morning-ish sun till 10 due to cycling), but i am ok with that. Doc told me also might be affected by things like fluid intake also prior/during testing coz first thing in the morning etc. And he also mentioned that it is great that i supplement around 250-300mg of Mg per day to keep it balanced.
Calcium 2.56 mmol/L (2.15 - 2.50)

The NB5 was a great shoe for the first couple hundred of KMs. Like you said, great for easy runs or slower pace where you just coast along. But not sure if hyperbole or what but somewhere down the line the shoe just felt totally different. The foam no longer has the "pop" and i find myself having to put in alot more effort during long runs. Did a read up online and it seems like a common sentiment among other NB5 users.

Was considering replacing the NB5 with SB2 since i am currently only have a 2 shoe rotation. But with my experience on the NB5, think i am better off going for more value for money china brands.

Seems like you wear PB5.0 alot. I also have a PB 5.0 I would say it feels very light and feels like running on air.
