That's why need to train for sub 3 under tropical conditions since I'm probably not racing anytime overseas haha.

So far training has been quite productive, pace got faster while maintaining same HR.
For me now speed improve but HR also go up haha. Kudos to u though if can up pace with same HR

Know a friend that run the 5k in 17:30, his marathon time in sg is 3:08 probably because of the heat

Running under 20mins and under 3hrs with this kind of weather can be quite different you see, and not to mention hydration.

Push ups relatively easy to hit 40..... but personally i found > 40 to be increasing difficult and then 50-60 maciam like plateau level.
< 40 is like beginner's gains like that. Just train normal push ups alternate day, 1 warm up set of 5-10s and then 2 sets of near failure and/or last set to failure like need to shout out vulgarities, i guarantee most of you here within 4 months can achieve. No need to even do with resistance bands, wide or diamond, decline push ups, explosive up and slow negatives etc. Of coz best to also hit at least 1g/kg of protein daily + decent sleep.
And that's coming from me in mid 50s, so all the IPPT goers below 35 or age 40 shd even be more doable.

Sit ups dont know....i never do one.

Then to get gold, dont have to run until like TT like that.

For my stats this morning:

Zone 5: 171bpm to 189bpm (63.7%)
Zone 4: 152bpm to 170bpm (31.4%)

Does this mean you stayed in zone 5 for 63% of your run and zone 4 for 31%?

Zone 5 is the highest intensity zone (max effort) so it is highly unlikely to stay for more than 5 minutes even for highly trained athletes.

Maybe the zoning is wrong? Check your Garmin and see if it based your zone on your MHR or LTHR.

I prefer to use LTHR for zone calculation since the zoning will be more accurate based on your aerobic fitness. Here is my 7.45km run data yesterday. Went into zone 5 when I pick up pace for the last 500m and it's only 3% of my run. 70% of my runs are in Z1,2,3.

first run in the PEAK匹克 千层浪, a plateless daily trainer.
Attempted a zone 2 run this morning at approx. 23degC, but failed to control HR desired range.
Feet comfort within shoes is good, plenty of room. I normally wear 40.5, this pair is 40 and my toes still feel roomy. Heels are well locked.
A dual density midsole, with the upper (silver) adopting a softer tuning with firmness at 42+/- (density: ≤0.13g/cm3), while the thicker base (off white) is firmer at 50+/- (density: ≤0.15g/cm3).
Ran at a pace between 7-7:45min/km for some 6.5km and it felt dull, in fact my right knee feels some form of discomfort, while left leg feels normal. However, when i picked up the pace in the last 500m, it feels pretty good. Initial reaction is that perhaps they can tune the firmness to a slightly softer feel.
Gotta run more and see if the firmness in the lower midsole will break in to give a more balanced feedback.
Damage: RMB 350 direct from PEAK official TB store.
3rd run in this PEAK匹克 千层浪
11.1km @ 7'23”/km av 143av HR
28degC (felt like 32degC) 72% humidity
failed to keep my HR within Zone 2🤣
totally drenched in prespiration from head to feet but overall felt good
midsole feels softer and more responsive as compared to first run. In comparison to the Qiaodan 强风3TR, it made me want to land forefoot more than the latter. The midsole also feels more responsive with a slight energy return that guides my body forward better than 3TR. In the case of 3TR, when my feet lands on the ground, I feel there is a loss in momentum and had less energy return to propel my feet forward.
Personally, PEAK匹克 千层浪 is probably more suitable choice for me than QIAODAN乔丹 强风3TR.
note: my runs in the 3TR uses the NB rebel v4 (2.5mm) and BMAI super critical foam (4mm) insoles instead of the 5mm version from Qiaodan.

Maybe can consider this to replace my SL2 as a daily trainer in the future
