Nowadays my long run usually at least 8km or 1.5 hrs i will carry a bottle of 100 Plus Pro to sip along the way to get enough hydration, electrolytes, energy and protein. It makes a huge difference especially early in the morning when no time/chance to eat heavy meal or drink alot of water to recover from night time lack of water. Sometimes 5km run in the late afternoon I also bring my 100 Plus Pro to ensure every thing is good. Very kiasi one.
Wah late afternooner also ah (say 5-5.30pm)...same as sales69.
2023 that time i tried to "TT" a 10k (coz of AHM 2023 mah) and 7th to 8th K i was feeling light headed, hot day yes but it was 6+ pm already so no sun exposure to even increase heat absorption (heat index temp is based on shade temps).......i know you know the standard feeling, sometimes extra motivated and right after work just decide to hoot. Didnt make it to the 10th KM, light headed.
Not sure was due to hydration or heat, probably more of the heat.
5pm thereabouts, it is possibly still 40 deg C heat index on the track one.
2.4K at that kind of low 3:00 min/km pace is probably around the limit. I know AI puts 5k and 10k distances at fast paces to be potentially dangerous.
