The last lap, around 30 minute into the race, quite exciting to watch Hassan sped up to grab that podium. Wasn't sure if she wants to run this race easier in anticipation of the FM coming up in less than a day, coz she was hanging at the back of the pack all the while. But she gave us a good show in the final moment

I wonder if Bol and Sydney both do pure 400 what’s their times. Seeing as Sydney’s 400 hurdles is so insane and Bol’s split in the 400m relay was insane too
Had a discussion on this with my bro, ~1.5-3s slower than the real deal.

https://speedendurance.com/2011/03/31/estimating-400-meter-hurdles-potential/

They would theoretically get into 400m finals but not really be the best out there. Hurdle training requires a lot more technique than raw speed/power.

That being said, Bol definitely has the form of high 48s for the 400m. She ran a 47.93s anchor leg. So add in 0.5 - 1s. Her current 400m PB has her at 49.44, while her hurdles is 50.95 (+1.5s). If you put her PB into olympics time without 400m-specific training, she will be 6th place.

Side discussion for 3k steeplechase.

Just add in 30s to your original 3k timing to get steeplechase time. But that's provided you main steeplechase and get good with the obstacles. Or assume 3.2k best timing.

She definitely clearly established herself as a jack of all trades. I don't think it's easy for other woman to outkick her since she has 1500 background. But at the same time, my theory of her not achieving gold is correct also. That being said, gunning for multi-event podium is significantly a lot harder than one/two event gold. So hats out to her for challenging herself.

50 seconds training prob. See Nielsen twins on youtube, low 50s but Laviai just got kicked out from semi finals.
I cannot run so fast also lah.......60 seconds (2.30 pace) was all i dare to push when there is need for speed + can do coz scared hammies cant take it since it is a rather long distance to maintain. Anyway, quite long time never do such run intervals already.....coz i do cycling based intervals and then running is SITs (2.00- 2.05 pace) and 20 seconds hills on the way home from office, similar can already. No need to improve much for speed, just maintain.

I dont have much experience for running, but at least in cycling, having that explosive kick is ultra impt in real life. Esp for slipstreaming, cycling is even more advantage than in running (of coz running still got effect, just lower). The neuro and mentality etc. Is for these scenarios. But i guess for ITTs not as useful.

Running with the toe injury. Did a KT taping , Turf Toe style, to immobilize the big toe. This run was awkward, as I was trying the minimize loading the injury by heel striking and lift off my leg before the toe off stance. Manage to run this with almost pain free.

Is it real that after 6km run your heart rate is only 130?
Mine is in 180s after 4km and stays that afterwards.
