Already suspected so if you are after performance and fpr cycling practicality (even though the dualthlons available here locally are not draft legal and no sprints, but the video explains why it is even more beneficial)...... Even PCNs got use....prob beneficial when you are already tired from already having some distance in your legs.

My BMI is also near the lower side like yours.

Do check your BMD.

When you run high mileage, you may be losing calcium.
Normally I don't really run up to 40km per week which I don't feel is that high .. I feel high mileage should be at least 50km to 60km.

Lower mileage and increase gradually again. Need to allow body to adapt the mileage slowly. Eventually you can do high mileage, but just have to be patient with the adaptation.

do try other running shoes if you have and see any difference. It happened to me before, but once i changed to another pair, knees don't have the same discomfort. This could be one of the several possible cause.

Other than slowly progression of increasing mileage, there are quite a few exercises you can do, but maybe can try this glute strengthening exercise for starters.
Coz quite a fair number of pple have weak glutes also.......so shd have a high chance of helping.

Then second vid also can try, tib raise.

Both are relatively easy and not time consuming to do. Can even do before running as sorta warm up.
