envious that you guys can run at such pace and distance with such low HR.
Happy 2025!
If not for your injury, else you can add more volume. More volume (with adequate recovery) equals to better fitness. Hope you find your solution to your ankle this year.

adding volume is not an issue to me. if i am more disciplined and able to tahan the cold, doing 10km daily shouldn't be a problem for me nowadays. Main issue is I am having difficulties to increase speed and sustaining high HR. Probably have to lose weight, improve core muscles and more appropriate strength training.

My first run of the year. 16.6km in 1:33, 5:38/km.

How do I fix the issue of a new nike running shoe being too narrow?
I now have a red sack of blood on the root of a toe. not bleeding though.

2XU price is Expensive almost same as SCMS
Yes, but a couple of run clubs do build up training for 2XU. I know one run club is planning to start 2XU training on next weekend with a long run.

2XU, Garmin Run, SCMS were the popular runs last year.
SUB 14
Not on the track. (track WR actually is slower)

She is unbeatable, GOAT to be for 5/10k. Can easily run track WR now.
Really admire the running culture in Japan. These are corporate runners. Wonder do they get paid extra for representing the company for such events?
Tomorrow will be the Hakone Ekiden.
They are definitely paid, the companies will give them time to train to represent Ekiden.

Got extra benefits like training facilities, medical coverage, housing.

If the runner does well in Ekiden, it promotes the company brand. It's a win-win for the company.

Can try these workouts: pick any of the three from leg, core and upper body. 1 min each x 3 different workouts x 3 sets (~27 minutes)

What I usually do:

leg: lunges, leg raise, stationary bike (home, can use gym ones or do squats)
core: situps, planks, bridges
upper body: push ups, dumbbell bicep curl, shoulder raise dumbbell

I find nike shoes to be narrow for me, so I went with ASICS ones. Maybe it fits your legs better since it's wider?

Anti climax finish for world record. LOL.

Coz it's a very slight (nett) downhill course. So not eligible for the record books.
But finish is rather stupid to have officials running around on the route blocking.
