Hi guys currently using my 361 flame mix4 for my running.
Looking to buy a daily running shoe
Any recommendations?
Budget wise will be like 100 or less and china brand as is more cheaper.

Can watch from 34 mins onwards. Front part is western brands.

Share something that i have found :

Actually, my anecdotal feeling is that, the change from night sessions to morning sessions so as to avoid the sessions from interfering my sleep and hence able to get more sleep + better quality sleep (daily can get 1hr of additional deep slow wave sleep) as per my smartwatch sleep tracking, and the added focus on strength sessions (actually this one more for cycling) which leads to better and more productive workouts / sessions got effect.

I think maybe higher strength also leads to better muscular/oxygen usage efficiency, however slight that might be. I noticed this esp for my Sentosa Imbiah climbs, coz i like to mini TT it plus check HR at X kmh speed, eg 8kmh 60 rpm can now keep it below 120bpm....this sort of "check" i can literally keep seeing the progress in 2 weeks time frame and sometimes from week-to-week also can sense slight improvement.
Coz increases in weight/reps for a particular strength exercise might not correlate to better timings/HR etc.

Another point is, i noticed I havent been failing any of my workouts also.

Also, the HR at such paces is somewhat lower than when i just purely doing run training 2-3 yrs ago. (gotten similar times at my best run fitness then).

And all these together with significantly higher muscular mass and much higher strength, which generally is a good thing for older folks.
Last time i was "stick thin" at 56-57kg even though I could run, now is 73-74kg (of coz i think at least 3-4kg is water weight due to Creatine supp).
Last time 2-3 yrs ago also barely could do any dips/pull ups (ummm.....like 1 rep?) and heck even just a dozen push ups also literally RIP before i started trying with push ups and then pull ups/dips, bloody weak last time.

Not a marathoner or even HM, but from AI. I think since first race, also a bit safer also lah....
This is one POV.....there might be others (not really sure about really long distances)

The last long run, typically done 3 weeks before a marathon, should be run at a comfortable pace (60–90 seconds per mile slower than goal pace) to avoid injury and fatigue. Many runners incorporate a "fast finish" or a 6–12 mile block at goal marathon pace to build confidence, rather than running the whole distance fast. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Key Considerations for the Final Long Run:
  • Pace: Focus on zone 2 heart rate (65–75% of max) or a conversational pace for the majority of the run.
  • Structure: Start easy to conserve energy and gradually increase to marathon effort in the last third to test your legs.
  • Duration: Keep it between 16–22 miles or 3–4 hours.
  • Intensity Note: Avoid going "all out" as it can hinder your taper and recovery. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]

Think really better dont just pile up the hours / volume and train smarter instead....need to focus on the health aspect as well.

Ok, maybe for cycling and running and even longevity (type II fibres and neuro), this might be more useful training. 😅 Power, rate of force development.
Side benefit : iliopsoas sure develop speed/power/neuro as well, though not sure how that directly benefits running/cycling.

Also, i believe together with drop jumps (plyo), this also has an injury prevention component for the AT and PF.

Rich (BB code):

Just completed my final long run. Sub 4hr got hope or not or just fat hope. Wanted to do 30km, but got lazy, it’s 2am here. Started 5:19 for first 20km and then 5:13 for remaining 7km

First marathon in 18 days from now.
all the best, can start tapering
