Gonna give it a few more weeks. Will get referral if not better by then.

Heard each session at CGH sport clinic is $150 upwards.

Also saw Taobao selling the device for like $900. Tempted to buy but likely do more harm than good in untrained hands haha.

Bro, really can consider racewalking as i mentioned above. Start with 1km first then raise to 3 if you like. But still not too much volume. Still have chance to use all the shoes that you have and is not as drastic a change like it is with cycling or swimming. 🤣
If you still wanna dissipate some of the lingering spare energy, go set new targets for your upper body and lower body exercises

Since you said that you can feel it that you are gonna recover soon, maybe can do this till beginning of July. If dull pain still persists, then go polyclinic and get referral. If no pain at all, that means not plantar fasciosos.
I think only got 2 outcomes here.

I went to check AI and generally Plantar fasciosis chronic stage 3-6 months time frame, if it is untreated or under-treated. But of coz is your case 1 whole linked case of just undertreatment or separate distinct episodes, we dont know. Or maybe it could be some variation of heel spur or what, we wont know, but after a few more weeks (July) still dull pain persists with huge regression in volume and/or cross training, then when you go see polyclinic for referral, i think high chance they will order imaging due to the time length.

edit - one more thing, even slight discomfort dull 1/10 pain that persists and never go away also better go see. Coz our body and mind got one "special" trick one, is that all these chronic pain we can tahan a lot or even in some cases make it disappear and make it seem to be "normal". Something to do with the brain downregulating some of these pain pathways, our brains are pretty neuroplastic. So be careful here.
Im sure most of us have experienced before pain that is 0.5 to 1/10 very dull pain that we ignore esp when we are busy with something else, but then suddenly at certain times when we have nothing much going on, it comes on again as 2 to 3 out of 10 level.

AI Overview

Plantar fasciitis generally transitions from an acute inflammatory condition (fasciitis) to chronic tissue degeneration (plantar fasciosis) when symptoms persist beyond 6 to 12 weeks. While some sources identify 6-8 weeks as the turning point, many clinicians define the chronic stage starting at 3 to 6 months. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Key Transitions and Timelines
  • Acute Phase (0-6 weeks): Initial inflammation and microtears.
  • Sub-acute Phase (6-12 weeks): Healing stalls, tissue begins to thicken and become less flexible.
  • Chronic Phase/Fasciosis (3+ months): The condition is now defined by collagen breakdown (degeneration) rather than active inflammation. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Why the Change Happens
The shift to fasciosis happens because the tissue cannot repair itself properly due to repetitive stress, poor vascularization in the heel, and inadequate healing. "Fasciosis" indicates that the collagen fibers have become disorganized, and the tissue is actually breaking down, making it less elastic and more prone to further injury. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Some treatments that they do at SKH. Nowadays minimally invasive.....

Was about to get referral. But pain improved to 2/10 with the shoe change so I think it's manageable.

Think as long as I don't do anything stupid, do stretching and strengthening, should recover soon. Can feel it. :)

Though if want faster recovery, shockwave therapy looks like the best approach.

Spoke to a few Safra runners, they had their plantar fully recovered after like 2-5 sessions.
Mine was custom insoles and shockwave therapy. I think same as @milkiee

me finally succumbed to the temptation and bought the 9U via PDD @ RMB300+. Someone here shared that the shoe mid section runs tight and ordered half a size larger and indeed it is and it works, albeit the front of the shoe has one thumb clearance instead of half thumb. One thing I don't like is that the insole are glued onto the shoes. The fabric and upper mesh color is more off-white (like the Xiaonian) instead of white. Another observation is that all QR codes in the label within the shoe are "destroyed", likewise in the box label as well.
This shoe has a natural tendency for me to supinate when I place my body weight on the heels but I am too curious to get to know this 9U more. Looking forward to my LSD this weekend.

Share something that i have found :

Actually, my anecdotal feeling is that, the change from night sessions to morning sessions so as to avoid the sessions from interfering my sleep and hence able to get more sleep + better quality sleep (daily can get 1hr of additional deep slow wave sleep) as per my smartwatch sleep tracking, and the added focus on strength sessions (actually this one more for cycling) which leads to better and more productive workouts / sessions got effect.

Just checked.
From late Mar to present when i changed all my evening sessions to all mornings . 7h 38h avg.
Easily + 1hr to 1.5hrs vs if i were to do my evening sessions from 8.45pm onwards which was for the vast majority of the time before i made the change.

Not only total number of hours but also sleep quality (enough deep wave, light sleep). Coz technically less cortisol / adrenaline in the system.

edit - oh yea I also noticed something, last time the initial parts of the sleep, like first 1-2 hrs, i would "jump up" suddenly and gasp for air, or my legs would suddenly spasm (not cramp) and i'd then fall back to sleep.
Past 1 month+, i noticed no more already.

Technically would benefit running, cycling, strength, hormones, everything.

Hope this info snippet benefits those whose schedules allows this change.
But then again, i also know.....very very few people would be willing to start preparing for sleep at 9pm, maybe by 10pm latest. 10.15 to 5.45am = 7.5hrs

It seems that the optimal timing might be late afternoons, but we all know....that is not possible here with our hot weather + work.

From Jan till now not recovered. Initially I thought running fast, short distance won't affect the problem. In fact, got worse.

Then I tried thicker cushioned shoes (soft, plated or with rocker). The shock absorption helps, not as painful. From 7/10 pain become 5/10. But still don't feel right. (sore arch and both peroneal and posterior tendonitis)

Finally switch to my only non plated shoe, Mizuno Sky Wave 8 and did slow runs (6:30++) only.

This shoe has a firm and stable platform even though marketing suggests it's soft.

The change really help, gradually my pain became 2/10. Can also do short bursts of speed.

Then last week I took out my Bmai carbon 3 turbo to test. Ran 5k @ 5:40 pace, felt good. The next day, pain increase to 5/10 again... 😂

So now guai guai run slow with non plated Mizuno. Luckily pain recovered to 2/10.

I think a non plated, firm and stable shoe is really important for plantar recovery.

Ran with the newly arrived R2 Yourun 2 yesterday. Quite firm, bouncy and stable. Pain remain at 2/10 so I suppose that's good. :)
i was still thinking of getting a plated racing shoe for BYDSIM.
think i might have to look at super trainers instead.

i have been wearing non plated shoes almost exclusively and i took out my primex2 from cold storage as i'm retiring my mizuno neovista which has a plate for stability. bam! my arch has been sore since then but no pain for me luckily.

i bought the qiaodan qinghong free as recommended by ender i think. hope it will do good for my plantar. will try out your hypothesis on non-plated, firm and stable shoe. however, i really am a sucker for high stack cushioned shoe :ROFLMAO:

Really got such a thing.
But then i dont know....maybe this is also specific to individuals, and the age group also.

AI Overview

Your legs are likely spasming and causing you to jump awake because of a common phenomenon known as hypnic jerks (or sleep starts), which are being triggered or intensified by the physical fatigue, dehydration, and nervous system stimulation from your night runs. When you run at night, your muscles and nervous system remain "on alert" when you try to sleep, causing them to misfire during the transition from wakefulness to light sleep.
Sleep Foundation +4

Those jolts (hypnic jerks) are highly likely triggered by adrenaline, alongside other physiological factors related to exercising late at night. [1, 2]
These spasms happen because your nervous system is still in a high-alert state while your body is trying to transition into sleep, creating a "tired but wired" effect. [1, 2]

Today is my second follow up after my distal radius surgery. The doc say why need to remove the metal plate and screws in future is cos the metal plate is too close to tendon, might cause tendon rupture.

As usual x ray and occupational therapy today . And no cycling for time being.

can remove splint but I prefer to still wear it

@WussRedXLi
new bike alert!
SPECT MIRA
T1100+M60 Carbon Fibre

smart move. wait and see, maybe an older model may be the sweet spot and will cost lower.

Not only complete bikes apparently, got so many new tech to the components, and lower in price than Shimano.

If more and more bikes are manufactured in T1000 and T1100 and more buyers, the prices will come down to T800.

naturally. for me, its good that China is bringing down prices of quality products and letting normal people enjoy good qualities products at affordable prices

Hope it works for you. I'm going to get the Qing Hong free too. Just not sure whether to get 44 or 45.

A customer review said to size up if wide feet as the front slightly narrow.

Side note, now heavy rain at Bedok Reservoir. Ran 4km. Now in shelter since Cat 1.

The R2 Yourun 2.0 is nice. Stable and firm for me to jump around in puddles. Upper only slightly wet.

Though some water logged in shoe. The outsole waterproof confirm pass wet surface.

first run (15km@6:36min/km av 151bpm av HR 18-20degC) in this 9U
negatives:
1) midfoot not comfortable. Didn't feel its an issue when i wear it, but as i run the part between tarsal & metatarsals felt squeezed upon throughout the run. felt worse during run probably due to feet expands as temp goes up
2) the overall weight isn't too heavy but as i reached the later part of the run, felt the shoes midsole weight was dragging me back. I suspect the midsole/outsole component is much heavier than the fabric part making me feel sluggish as i begin to tire. If the weight is distributed more evenly may help.
3) the overall 3 layers midsole is slightly on the stiff/firm side for LSD. I wish it is slightly less stiff yet maintaining its rebound effect to make slow runs more enjoyable.
positives:
1) very smooth transition even at slow paces (eg. 7min/km or slower pace). Reminds me abit of the bmai carbon 3.0turbo but heavier and stiffer. i like the midsole gradual rebound effect, especially for slower paces.
2) Feels good for fore-foot strikers. For me, rear foot felt abit wobbly. Tested during my first km on both ways and immediately prefer the former. A pair that encourages the use of forefoot striking method in my opinion. Even when i was in the reds for my last 2km, i was on my forefoot most of the time.

Today's form isn't good, was already in the red zone last 2km that I couldn't speed up to test the shoes on faster paces.

Hopefully the midfoot area will loosen up and the overall midsole will gradually soften up as i run more on this 9U. I can imagine i will give up if the midfoot area remains this way. Come summer it can be torturous.

Those who have this pair, I wonder if you the same issues on the midfoot section in SG perpetual summer conditions.

Think i am the one who mentioned the mid foot is narrower than other china shoes i have but definitely not to the point where it compresses against the metatarsal when running. At least for me, no real issues with the fit or feel. Maybe your pair will feel better with some breaking in.

Been mainly doing 6-7min pace in these and just cruise along with foam bounce. Ever tried doing 5mins and lower pace but gave up after 3km. Too chunky for tempo stuff especially compared to something like the Xiaonian.

yes it does feel chunky or draggy. The foam bounce is smooth and gradual which i like it and it will be quite perfect if it feels slightly less stiff/firm.
when do more tests next week
