been running through different ai to fine tune training plan. thus far the most logically sounding one is gemini.
Also discovered that even within the same engine the proposals can differ depending on how you prompt them.
any valuable insights?
Ya, it seems AI answer depends how to train or influence it. I don't use chat bot for training purposes due to inconsistencies and limited context windows.
Recommended by @milkiee , I think this is one of the best use of AI for training. At least the going thru montis, the AI is influenced by a some of the wll known philosophies for running. But the most valuable is the connection to Interval.icu, if your training data are uploaded there.

Interesting and wacky design. Mizuno is underrated and mostly forgotten brand nowadays.

If there were no China shoes, I will be stocking their shoes instead. Cheap and good.
I think they just need better marketing team. Seriously, there is literally almost no review online on their flagship Wave Prophecy model, which is supposed to be their equivalent of Asics' Superblast series. Going on blind on this, but I do need more options for stable bouncy shoes for marathons.

I bought their racing flat Wave Emperor Japan 4 and used it recently for my speed works. Enjoyed the almost barefoot feel of it.

Have always been an Asics guy, but Asics' markup outside Japan is insane.

🚨 The Four Signs to Watch

According to the expert, people born in these years should avoid certain places or situations to prevent "spiritual disturbances" (like unexplained sickness or bad luck):

  • Rat & Snake: These signs are linked to stronger Yin energy(often associated with darkness, night, and cold).
    • Avoid: Beaches, riversides, and mountainous areas (especially at night).
  • Monkey:These individuals are thought to be sensitive to dense, shadowy environments.
    • Avoid: Deep forests or areas with large, shady trees.
  • Pig:These people are advised to avoid chaotic or messy spaces, which are believed to attract negative energy.
    • Avoid: Clubs, bars, and cluttered homes.

any idea what gels we are getting at this year's bydsim?
got a variety pack of sis go isotonic energy gels. already used 4 of the 7 flavours.
seems to work well for me cos i am used to starting my runs fasted with just a cup of black coffee.
used one at 7km of 16k run. then 7km, 13km and 20km of 25k run. no bloating or discomfort or bowel issues.
But at almost 3 bucks a pop. it much more expensive than the decathlon ones that i used to buy.
Any other cheap and good?
Winsports 45g of carbs. Very sweet but no need to carry so many gels

Not sure where the guy get his figures from. Apparel so expensive meh? Next week marathon I will be using a Mizuno tank top, an Anta running short, and a pair of Balega socks only $60+ in total cost. Shoes no need to buy latest and greatest model. I always buy one generation behind and most of my shoes below $100. The most expensive one that I have is carbon plated Asics Yogiri S4+ which cost me around 180 SGD when I bought it in Tokyo.

Anyway just ordered Wave Prophecy 14 from Mizuno Store. $115 after discount. Going to test it over the weekend then decide whether to use my Yogiri or the Prophecy for my marathon next week. It looks really badass though.

Well, he is Singapore's full ironman record holder and his perspective is if you are getting the top brand apparels and shoes. He himself is sponsored la so for him no need pay haha.

I learned my lesson, last year only brought 2 of my own gels and relied on the free ones, in the end cannot even open them. This year gonna wear vest to bring more of my own gels.
For my last 2 marathons I did not use gels because they were so hard to open when hand is sticky and sweaty. I use Clif Energy Chews that I put into small ziplock bag that I keep in my pocket. Taste pretty nice too.

I had the problem with sis isotonic gel. But their beta fuel is alright to tear.

@Sadisticnoob also

7th month now.

My wife told me not to join the grp rides liao. Esp since is dark hours.
Some places not exactly "clean" also, WW2 etc.

I think for me, will make a concession. Will join, but pace for training at the back with safety distance and not for drafting. Im not really superstitious, but i am also not really a risk taker.

Sweaty palms, I could neither tear nor bite them. Took 4 all cannot open haha
tear with hands difficult.. sweaty and no no grip.
my sop is to bite down and yank to tear open. I guess it easier for me as I don't use the month to breath for harder to tear ones like the sis go. I had to stop and figure out on the first one. there after I use scissors to pre-cut a incision first so it is much easier to tear.
Will be good if they let us know in advance what gels they give out on route so can test.

good solid plans for all your goals! All the best!
Thanks, hopefully I can take the ippt and then focus on HM training. Otherwise, will just take it after reservist.

Thanks. Was quite surprised also since not much intervals during my shortened marathon block also.

Next week see whether can hit sub 40 for 10km during 7 eleven run anot haha. Might use a negative split strategy this time round although not my preferred style
All the best, I will be going for 7-11 run for their fun run. I am going to try hard for the 10km in decathlon run, try for pb (depending on whether the course is accurate or not).

After testing a lot, I can only tolerate isotonic gels since I am used to not hydrating so much. I use the 36g ones, cheap for the carbo it provides.

I go with established training plans for training, but training nutrition, recovery, strength training I get from AI 😂

For those sweet gels, I need to drink water asap if not hard to stomach

My solution for my next marathon is to bring my own running bottle and then mix the bottle with water + gel. The disadvantage is if you need a lot of gels/water, then vest is better. Vest disadvantage is added weight throughout the run.

I'm taking on 20th aug at CMPB but not confident. Now no maju, sub 9 is not a guarantee haha. If my statics suck, I may just take it easy to try out the 300m track.
