I guess some people still fall for Intel's saturated numbers to pretend they have the most cores. Though most of the i9 are still not created yet and the specs will only come after they see Threadripper's final specs so they can try to one up it.

Advisable for normal consumers not to buy x299 i5. Many features disabled on purpose and there's no on-board integrated graphics. And if you especially buy i5, you might not be too PC savvy. So if GPU spoilt, you'll be glad you can still boot to PC using the integrated graphics of the CPU if you just stick to the consumer grade Core i5 series CPUs running on Z170 or Z270 instead of going with the X series i5 chips.

That has nothing to do with the R7. It's the LAN chip and the BIOS that matters.

It probably has something to do with the cpu, motherboard, drivers and the lan chip as a whole.

Say we have two systems, amd and Intel with Intel lan on both. The former has wake on lan issues.

What do we make of it?

So far amd doesn't have a competing the wallet ripper feature that is available on intel platforms

Intel created AVX, and its CPUs implement additional 512-bit AVX calculations that give it an advantage. In this particular case, the 6900K beats the 1800X by 50 percent. But while that might look horrible, there aren't a lot of applications, particularly consumer applications, that leverage AVX in this fashion, and Ryzen still represents a dramatic improvement in AVX workloads compared to poor FX-8370—the 1800X is 150 percent faster than the 8370.
