Kid Xiaomi smart watch roaming function

Hello people,

anybody here managed to fix up their kids Xiaomi smartwatch to be able to use oversea with local sim provider through roaming service? My kid watch only managed to work oversea if I use the country local SIM card, although our plan comes with roaming.

Yes, no ability to configure network setting.

I was told that only certain telcos work with this watch.
I got this from SIMBA when they had a promo for like $69 (IIRC), and it works when I am overseas.
Still able to view location and receive SMS. Did not try native calls though, but of course video calls works since data and location works.
So only know SIMBA works on this watch.

As in can see the network on the watch? But mobile data doesn't work?

Yeah. Can see watch got the network bar, but no way to get connected. Its like data roaming is not enabled and there’s no menu to on data roaming

Mine has network bar and shows 4G, working fine.
Maybe the SIM plug into a phone and reset the APN?

If local set, roaming feature for data is working on SIMBA.

No point to spend so much on a smartwatch that cost almost similar to Apple Watches.
Not like the data consumption is high, so "MyFirst" watch value proposition is low.

Yup, SIMBA confirm can work on Xiaomi Smart Kids Watch. If you can obtain the SIMBA Senior plan, much more value for money.
Just to confirm even though there is only 1 model that Xiaomi brings in to SG, this is the one you are referring to?

Currently using SIMBA, it works.
SIMBA senior should work, since its still SIMBA too?

Was allegedly told that the Xiaomi Kids Smart Watch works with only certain telcos.
For SIMBA tested that its working, No other users shared here of the usage with other MNOs/MVNOs for this smart watch.
SIMBA works pretty great even when overseas too since bundled with roaming.

i just subscribed last friday, waiting for it to come.

I read on Facebook and text some of the commenters, they say yes simba works.

So far from what i gathered, these are the following telcos that works with xiaomi kids: Simba, redone, Giga
