Don't get mix up. Single and double side memory doesn't determine whether it is single or dual channel.

Dual/single Channel is DIFFERENT, nothing to do with the physical attribute of the memory stick. It is determine by the motherboard itself.
So 4 barebone valueRAMs put together also can get quad-channel?

I got GSkill Ripjaws mainly for aesthetics, so unaffected by whether single or dual or quad.

As long as same rams in the same color slot will give u dual/quad channel.

But also have to depend on your motherboard layout. Read the manual. lol. :D

My setup are 2GB/8GB/2GB/8GB. The 2GB kits are corsair vengenance series rams. The 8GB kits are samsung rams.

CPU-Z still show dual channel. I didn't bother to test out whether single or dual liao. :s13:

As long as same chip type, timing and latency identical, it will works as dual channel ram configuration in most cases.

However, for sure fire way, get dual channel kit, if don't work, go flip distro table. :D

but to be honest, most normal motherboard runs on max dual channel from what i know, unless ur mb is one of those higher end and support quad channel, beside that to have quad channel u must get identical set to have quad channel, otherwise, u are just wasting ur money and getting the most efficient setup. :o
