i prefer crucial coz of its cheaper price.. and yet it works great ")
talking about RAM,
is it okay if use value RAM on X99 platform ?
would that make any real performance difference if using other RAM like hyper X Fury, Corsair LPX with higher clock ?
how long is their warranty??
Sure why not.
The only disadvantage is that valueRAMs are single channel RAMs, while x99 platform accepts up till quad channel RAM configs. So the performance loss is there for extreme usage scenarios and benchmarks, but no diff for most usage scenarios.
but if i plug in 4 stick 8 GB of value RAM, is still single channel? or it is quad channel?

Lowest common denominator.Wait a min... moment of blur... the ram slots come in pairs right? I thought as long as I plug 2 sticks, eg 2 x 4GB, it will be running in dual channel? At least that was the case (I believe) when dual channel just came out... last time when I was still more enthu about PC
How about my Crucials?
Channel is like RAID 0 your HDD/SSD.but if i plug in 4 stick 8 GB of value RAM, is still single channel because of each stick is not "identical" ?

Does it behave like a quad? Benchmark to find out.My valueRAM runs in quad just fine...

Any tips on what to test/lookout for? Just did a quick bench with SiSoft Sandra, got: 44.22GB/s.
Actually, seems to me single channel or dual channel isn't a great deal of difference.

U take a quad-channel RAM kit (4x8 GSkill Ripjaws 4 or Corsair Vengence LPX) from any review sites, overclock to that frequency (2400MHz or 2666MHz, no idea if valueRAMs support XMP profiling), then check results against the review sites.Any tips on what to test/lookout for?
