last nite me went to the foodcourt (the ma**** forgot the name) and i tried the sarawak noodle. The noodle dont seem to be cooked(hard hard de)But overall still very nice(maybe next time i ask for kway teow instead) ate also the chee cheong fun, duno is it me? I feel the smell abit funny, and the stall owner abit attitude(wont eat again liao), I saw a ang moh eat the stingray and i ask him abt the price, he told me rm 28. So ya, the owner no bluff me, its really that expensive. :s13:

I went to have nasi briyani at the foodcourt in Komtar JBCC yesterday, decided not to go over to KSL after that. :s13:

The Sarawak noodle was alright the last time I tried, maybe they're careless yesterday, or different cook. The Chee Cheong Fun there is supposedly "special", is Ipoh-style or something, though the lady at the stall looked more like a foreigner the last time I was there, and also I thought there's something similar in the Monday's pasar malam there.

What is Kapitan? Is it a supermarket? Is the price cheaper than Tesco?

I first noticed Kapitan as a shop selling mainly local beverages, snacks, condiments, and the likes. I think that's back when the Kapitan in KSL Mall was situated just a few steps from Tesco. Then I noticed that mini-mart in the basement of City Square, and their shop in the same building.

The one in Komtar JBCC is marked as a "Grocer", if I remember correctly, bigger than the one in City Square but quite possibly smaller than the one in Galleria Kotaraya.

Knowing that the rentals are normally higher in city centers, what's more walking distance to the CIQ building, I think you can guess how the prices can be. And having said that, I won't travel to KSL just for a box of tea bags. :s13:

By the way, the Kapitan at KSL Mall is now outside, across the road from the "KFC exit". ;)

Price a Kapitan is hardly any cheaper than Tesco. Most time it cost more. unless you are interested to buy local produce from MY. Grocery items, better not buy there. Some of the stuff sold are even more costly than SG.
Just that people tends to think everything in MY is cheap.... Ha..ha.. how wrong they are.

Tesco at KSL is a small branch. In the past, they used to sell stuff that are more costly than other Tesco branch (guess due to high rental). Even online promotion aren't valid there. However, I have not seen this online for sometime. So my guess is they do have the same promotion now.
Of late since late last year, price at Tesco has already gone up. I used to compare prices between Tesco and Jusco at Tebrau (walking distance of each other). Nowadays, I hardly bother to walk over to Tesco unless I am looking for other stuff not available at Jusco building. Like Mr DIY at Tesco side.

FYI, I take public bus there, so can't really wonder off very far and I have best of 2 Hypermart to compare price.

Will be looking forward to explore KSL next Mon and Tues.already applied for leave and got it approved.

1. So is 11 century hotel the most recommended? Am heading with my ns buddy. 2 guys. So accomodation dont really have to be tip top.

2. For massage, which is the most recommended? Craving for some massage (clean one) of course.

3. I will be there on Monday night. So where do i head for the Monday Pasar Malam? Is it nearby?

I will be staying near KSL on day 1. So anywhere else to visit nearby?

Day 2 , will be heading up to teberau city. Any recommendation?

The pasar malam is on the other side of the KSL Mall, from Century.

That is, KSL is across the road from Century, so you can go into the mall (that's the basement aka Lower Ground), go up one floor via the escalator, walk across the Ground Floor to the other exit and you'll see the pasar malam across the road.

Exit in the opposite direction from Century's main entrance, you can walk over to Holiday Plaza shopping mall. There's a department store - Parkson, and a few floors of shops. I go to this mall for a wider range of accessories for mobile devices.

There are 2 hawker centers in the area. One is at the other end of the pasar malam, and the other is at the end of the rows of shophouses along the road between Century and KSL.

Tebrau City... Aeon Tebrau is a mall, with Jusco department stores and a few floors of shops and restarants - quite a big mall. Across the road, is another building with Tesco megamart, Mr DIY, and a few other shops.

Famous BKT in the area is the shop across the road from the LG floor "KFC exit", though I've tried once and taking in potion, taste, and service in mind, I'd choose to settle my BKT crave whenever I visit Melaka instead. I'm talking about joints which are walk-able to.

Cedar Point which is at the other end of the pasar malam has good BBQ chicken wings (not tried the one from the other center), better oyster omelette, and I like the claypot curry fish head near the BBQ chix wings stall too. The other center (named Mal-something, a Spanish word) has recommended Malay nasi lemak, a Sarawak noodles/etc stall, IMO nicer atmosphere.

Massage-wise, you'll have to search a little here and also in the Johor thread, there's a recommendation one owned by a young chap who's studying/studied here.

You go to the bus interchange at JB central, located after the bridge linked from Johor custom and before the bridge linked to City Square.

All the location and what buses to take are clearly stated at the signage.

Came across this link, which looks pretty useful. :)

JB Sentral Bus Terminal

Or tjiax1 can check Causeway Link's Shopping & Leisure Bus list:

Don't forget to share your list here after you've made one up! :s12:

Thanks for the info. I'm actually also planning for my day 2. I will be checking out from 11 century hotel and thought of going to tebrau city. But I think I would only need half a day for that. Any recommendation on any other shopping mall worth a visit before coming back to sg

Before I first visited Aeon Tebrau, I read in this forum back then that people are finding not enough time to cover the mall.

I think it depends on how you normally shop in a mall. If you browse through the shops like me, only stopping if you spot something nice, I'd say visiting Aeon Jusco and then the next building where Tesco is (plus have lunch there), is just about enough for you to head back around dinner time.

Otherwise around there... is another supermarket... Giant, if I'm not wrong.

Or...catch a movie in Aeon? :s13:

Back from my trip of 2D1N.

11@century is a nice hotel. Directly opposite of KSL. Love the location.

I actually walked to Taman Sentosa for Bah Kut Teh from KSL. Its just 20mins walk.

At BKT stall,do try their ma you chicken. Plus a cup of refreshing Ai Yu Bing.
