Hi all, I'll be going to KL soon, staying at Capitol Hotel.

One of my destination will be Genting for a day, right now, I'm unsure with the modes of transportation up to Genting.

Taxi: Where can I flag these taxis and what are the fares like?
Bus: Similarly, where is the bus terminal that provide services to Genting and its price?

hmnn good choice... in terms of location...there's where i stayed when i was last in KL last yr.... just next to sungei wang plaza....back entrance...heheh...

well went to genting during one of the days while in KL....just tell the front desk you need a cab to genting..and they'll arrange for you.. at least one day in advance if possible... it was about RM70 to RM80... not too bad lar if you have at least 2 person... on your way back..u can ask the driver if he's willing to wait for you...otherwise..there's plenty of cab over at genting... but need to nego....

bus wise...there's plenty of buses..you can check with front office as well... cheers..

May try Planet Hollywood @ Jalan Bukit Bintang (not sure if still around), Hard Rock Cafe @ Jalan Sultan Ismail. If want more happening, go to Zouk @ Jalan Ampang.

hi, can anyone help me with directions to batu caves and thean hou temple from bukit bintang? thanks in advance.

Batu Caves
Take KL Monorail from Bukit Bintang to Titiwangsa station
Then take RapidKL bus U6.
Ask the driver about it.

Then remember to keep the bus ticket, I think they got like "concession" Pay one time then can take unlimited time.. not sure still got or not.

Thean Hou temple
Take KL Monorail from Bukit Bintang to Tun Sambanthan Monorail
Then follow this route

The best for the thean hou temple is to flag a cab up and ask him to wait for you. Nego a price with him because, I been there twice from walking to there, then come down always like sian sian feeling.

First time, I managed to ask people over there to call a cab for me to Petaling Street at RM10, second time, I have to walk down the slope to flag a cab.

nothing much to buy. maybe you just want to eat and eat instead!

Example, you go to mahattan fish market in Singapore for a fish-n-chip, it cost you maybe, let's say S$17. but over at malaysia, it cost you RM17 or so.

that's the good thing!

Dorsett is not, very near to pavalion, Sungei Wang is nearby too. Twin bed room consists of 2 queen size bed, breakfast depneding on how you look at its, 4 star hotel, not bad. I think its just below $100/N.
