Can anyone advise which hotel is good:

(1) Park Royal Collection Kuala Lumpur
(2) Park Royal Serviced Suite Kuala Lumpur
(3) Sunway Putra Hotel
(4) Sunway Pyramid Hotel
(5) Sunway Velocity Hotel

Anyone stayed in any of these can give insights?

Planning a trip to KL with 3 young kids and spouse during December school holiday. Family of 5. Any recommendation of good apartments or hotel that is comfortable, accessible and not too expensive?

We will be taking a coach up to KL. Any recommendations for coach? Does the coach comes with in-built toliet?

Is it recommended to hire a car to drive around in KL? We have 3 young kids in tow. Any good, affordable car rental companies in KL? We just bring Singapore driver's licence will do?

In your search criteria, check for "family room" after specifying that you have 2 adults and 3 children.

Aeroline coaches have toilets. The Transtar SuperStar Z should have it. I dare say none of the others do.

I can't recommend renting a car to drive around because traffic congestion can be a problem. Your Singapore driver's license suffices. I prefer to Grab but I don't think 5 passengers are allowed for the normal car.

I checked in to this hotel on Fri.

(1) Location is pretty good (a short 10 min drive away from Pavillion and the location is like a huge integrated resort with a big mall, hotel, medical centre, condos, small malls connected together)

(2) Service is not bad although I prefer them to have a dedicated counter for their GHA members

(3) If you have GHA titanium membership, you get 2 tier upgrade and free breakfast. On top of that, you get to check in at 11am and check out at 4pm.

(4) Price is about S$80 a night which is quite ok.

But the service level can’t fight the Marriott hotels but the price is different. Overall it is a Malaysian owned hotel chain so I rate them below the international chains and the China chains.

Actually I advise you not to waste time. Grab is very reasonable. Airport to city (55min ride) cost rm110 via 6 seater mpv. A 10 min ride cost rm7). My wife asked how they earn. I told her no idea. $2 in Singapore cannot even pay the flagging fee.

I won’t say no to driving but

(1) you will be tired from driving
(2) you may have problem finding parking
(3) may not be cheaper than grab

I got 1 example where I went with a few friends. One guy drove his Lexus all the way from SG. Then in the end can’t find lot when we go shopping on weekends. Then he need to get his own car back to SG whereas the rest of us fly, then more tulan is he needs to be our “driver”. lol! In the end, he parked his Lexus at the hotel then we call grab. But if you rent car then anyhow park also ok.
