Having said all that, I would still look forward to visit Sarawak, Penang and Malacca in Malaysia. But for shopping, KL can count me out.

I'd count on Bangkok, Taipei and HK.

yea i agree. my friend after pump petrol liao never lock. the robber came and open back door and took the bag and stuff.

after hearing his story. i never leave my door unlocked anymore.

For Malaysia's standards, this is not so intrusive.

Imagine, someone tails you or corners you. That is so f. intrusive and more dangerous.

For all those who asked,

My KL trip was terrible. Here's what happened. I was 10 min away from my hotel at Hilton, Petaling jaya. To go to Hilton, you can either alight at Taman Jaya or Asia Jaya. If alight at Asia Jaya, the traffic is crazy, a lot of junctions and no proper traffic light for pedestrians. If alight at Taman Jaya (behind hotel), it is quite deserted so can only go in the daylight.

On my third day, bf and I alighted at Taman Jaya because it was about 6pm. When we got out of the station, we noticed this guy (Guy-A) walking beside us. As we walked onto the pavement ahead, we noticed the same guy (Guy-A) suddenly appearing in front of us !! Then another guy (Guy-B) started to tail us behind. We became suspicious so we turned behind and made a u-turn. Guy-B saw that we did not walk ahead, started talking to Guy A. We pretended everything's ok and walked back to the Taman Jaya train station. They stopped tailing us.

Then, as we became very near the station, Guy C (new guy at train station), signalled to Guys A and B to come back.

As we walked up the stairs to Taman Jaya, Guy C tailed us. We pretended to buy water at Newslink yet Guy-C kept staring and waiting for us to go back to where we were from. We decided then to buy another ticket to Asia Jaya and cross the busy roads from there.

Damn scary right!!!

gosh, that does sound rather scary. getting tailed and stared at. any signs that could have leaked your wealth or something? something flashy?

but i'm rather glad that nothing happened to you. it would really be terrible.

interesting point about yr cabbie stealing cabs and masquerading. must bear that in mind.

why not rent a car and drive up or something? or rent a car from the local area? perhaps would be much safer?

I strongly advise people from taking coaches to Malaysia on the Sat of a long weekend.

The national day weekend, Sat morning was extremely terrible. 5 hrs trip became 9 hrs trip.

And that is already by 2nd link no less, the jam started even before reaching Tuas checkpoint.

I have to say ICA was quite efficient though, in lessening the jam and hordes of people.

I cannot say the same about Malaysia Customs. I spent bloody 3 hours stuck on the road after clearing SG customs and at Malaysia Customs.

I travel to Malaysia frequently on weekends and this is the most horrible weekend I ever experienced.

Next time, such long weekends come, I rather don't go or pay S$200 more to take SQ straight to KLIA and fly back the same.

I think next year, SG got many long weekends. Good luck man.

Even fly with air asia, jetstar and tiger are better options. Book early for cheaper fare.

what time did u reach tuas side? early morning i went woodlands at 6.15am, i already see the jam reach to end of the bridge liao. like any typical evening jam like that. so i think queue so long, decide to head to tuas, there was also a long queue but it moved quite fast. i asked the ICA guy, he said 4am already got queue start forming. sianz...

like u, after passing tuas checkpoint, i thought ok liao. reached malaysia side, i got a shock. the queue was so damn long man! worse than woodlands causeway. from tuas and clearing malaysia checkpoint, took me about 1.5hours in early morning 7am saturday.
