KL-JB, take a bus from Puduraya Bus Station, or a train from Sentral.

Hi was planning a trip on the 2nd week of august with my fren.. DO not have anything in mind, so checking wat are the thing we can do there??

Izzit safe for just 2 girls to go there? wat thing we got to take note of? Coz we planning to go genting stay for 2 days, then take bus down to KL, then stay for 1 night then take bus to JB..

By the way, how do i get from KL to JB?

Just came back with bf.

Almost robbed. Long story. But Im totally swearing off KL for now. I've travelled to many cities and KL is the worst. Transport sucks big time. Even if got money, also dare not take care. Crime is rampant.

Stay safe, too late at night don't go out to walk the streets.
Don't put your wallet/hp/purse on table in cafe/kopitiam/restaurant/road side stall/mamak etc., a lot people like to do this in SG. Never ever do this in Malaysia
Handbag/Bag don't put on other chair, put on your lap. Don't do that Malaysia
Try to avoid peak hours, KL's traffic is :s22:
Is JB your final destination?
Take note? If first time going to KL....better check all info
It will be safe if u mix in the crowd....

Depend...Hentien puduraya got many coach service....

Mode of transport to the bus station will be Taxi/LRT ....

From KL monorail,(Imbi or Bukit bintang) take to hang tuah(LRT) then...alight at plaza rakyat where u find all the bus.

KL-JB, take a bus from Puduraya Bus Station, or a train from Sentral.
Please be careful when in Puduraya, but no need to be paranoid. :s13:
always buy from ticket counter

Sensible advice from suangern.

Malaysia is not Singapore.

Sometimes, safety is taken for granted.

For couples, I recommend the Piccolo Hotel.

Soft opening last year, so is a very new hotel.

http://www.thepiccolohotel.com/

5 mins from The Pavillion Mall

:)

PS: Really couple recommended for all except family suite. Design is oriented for couples - *ahem*, showers is in full view from bedroom except from glass :D

Riots was on last Sat afternoon.

The Masjid Jamek LRT station was closed due to illegal assembly.

Not withstanding there was a PC fair at KLCC last weekend, the crowd on Sat was terrible.

most singaporeans take safety/security for granted. so when they go to m'sia or other parts of the world, they lose their senses.

dress flashingly, talk loudly, show the world their wealth etc.

when i'm in jb or kl, i'll even make sure to take a peep behind every once in a while to make sure i'm not being tailed. this is something which we never do in sg.

Remember to lock all car doors when driving. Some of our cars don't have the auto lock system when stepping on foot brake, so have to do it manually. Not locking might be still safe in SG, but not in MY.

For all those who asked,

My KL trip was terrible. Here's what happened. I was 10 min away from my hotel at Hilton, Petaling jaya. To go to Hilton, you can either alight at Taman Jaya or Asia Jaya. If alight at Asia Jaya, the traffic is crazy, a lot of junctions and no proper traffic light for pedestrians. If alight at Taman Jaya (behind hotel), it is quite deserted so can only go in the daylight.

On my third day, bf and I alighted at Taman Jaya because it was about 6pm. When we got out of the station, we noticed this guy (Guy-A) walking beside us. As we walked onto the pavement ahead, we noticed the same guy (Guy-A) suddenly appearing in front of us !! Then another guy (Guy-B) started to tail us behind. We became suspicious so we turned behind and made a u-turn. Guy-B saw that we did not walk ahead, started talking to Guy A. We pretended everything's ok and walked back to the Taman Jaya train station. They stopped tailing us.

Then, as we became very near the station, Guy C (new guy at train station), signalled to Guys A and B to come back.

As we walked up the stairs to Taman Jaya, Guy C tailed us. We pretended to buy water at Newslink yet Guy-C kept staring and waiting for us to go back to where we were from. We decided then to buy another ticket to Asia Jaya and cross the busy roads from there.

Damn scary right!!!

One more thing.

I've travelled to so many cities and KL is the worst. In the poorer, not so developed countries like Cambodia, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, it's more forgivable cause they dont even have many sprawling malls in the first place so if the transport is not structured, I tend to overlook. In KL, so many shopping malls, but no good transport. What for?

IMHO, KL has nothing much to offer. Same brands in KLCC as in SG. In Times Square, nothing much also.

The govt awarded tenders to different vendors without intention of linking these transport vendors up. RapidKL, KTM Komuter and Monorail - all suck big time. I rather pay USD$5 to sit on a motorbike for transport in Cambodia.

My colleague asked me, "Why never take cab?"

My reasons are simple and founded on good ground.

1. Scared cab driver is fake. A lot of thugs stole cabs and masqueraded as cabbies to rob and rape. (Check out malaysia crime watch website)

2. Even if Moorthy (my cab driver) is a real good guy, i won't take the risk of some car/motorbike knocking us and demanded we get off the car, or try to rob us in other ways too.

KL city is like Gotham city. Needs a Batman to clean it up.
