Lagging badly help pls

26/12 New problem pls help

I have a rig built around 10 months ago. Recently when I use the computer it lags badly. I click and drag my mouse on the desktop screen to multiple select icons and when I pull the mouse it doesn't follow as it moves but there's a delay of 2 sec. What could be the cause of it anyone ?

EDIT :

The previous problem was solved temporary i guess.. When I reinstalled the os.

Now a new problem similar to it , when I clicked google chrome the whole screen blackout.

what could this problem be ?
HDD , PSU confirm no problem.
HDD run test before no bad sectors.
PSU was swopped to test also no problem.

Suspect RAM , is this possible ?
Or graphics card higher chance ? Using Palit GTX 650.

Shouldn't be mouse problem as it moves smoothly across. Is the highlighting part that is lagging. And even also when I click start to go My Computer or other things it will lag too.

ok please run either one to check for errors.

I turn it to none .

Run the error test all green box no error.
Benchmark speed average at 102.8

Problem still persist.

What could the other problem be ?

I cleaned it last month.
Replaced the front filter too.

does it also happen in windows safe mode? if no, try disabling startup items to see if can find culprit

memory fully used? Windows 7 or Windows 8? You can goto resource monitor to check which device bottleneck or file been used.

well if it's like stuttering kinda movement then it's likely something running in the background where there's intensive iops where you have not enuff ram hence that's being swapped to harddisk. result of that = consuming bandwidth on the bus width causing stutters to your mouse movement or any other thing for that matter.

any indication that there's activity running on your hdd?

I've been using without changes till the problem suddenly occurs.

Will increasing the ram works ?
Running on 8gb now. Thought it would be enough as I use for LoL only.

Btw how do I reinstall windows ?
Do I just insert the win7 disc in ?

If HDD got bad sectors, installing windows will stuck/fail.

8gb ram should be enough for most applications, much less on your mouse stuttering. Your systems seems fairly new and not likely to hardware problem.

I would suspect that either there are too many background programs running, that's taking up bandwidth or your pc might be infected with virus.

Run Task Manager to see what's the background process or programs that are running and disable those which are unnecessary and also do a virus scan.
