Saw Harvey selling samsung D series 98" TV for $5k. Looks pretty huge. On the floor, it advertised a clearance between wall tv and viewing place of at least 2.98m.
I sit 3.2 to 3.3m away from my 120 inch UST. Although the recommended distance is 3.5m. 3m for 98 inch is not that near.

I'm 1.9 m away from my new 85" TV in my tiny 4m x 3m room ... & I'm loving it! 🤩
Sadly, anything bigger won't fit into the lift of my HDB flat. 😭
BIG is the way to go!

For decades, consumers have been misled by experts on viewing distance. The recommended were 3Rm 32" max, 4Rm 42, 5Rm 50. Then came 55, then 65, 72, 75, 85 and soon 98. So far nobody gone blind from big TV. With viewing distance concerns out, coming worry is getting 98 & 1xx into the lift.

Yes and no imo. Yeah bigger is nice till you need to read subtitles. Moi have 100 inch @2-2.5m, nice coverage but a bit chore when read subtitles.

Bigger TVs will need 8K soon, coz can see individual 4K pixel already. 😅

Your 4m x 3m room is your living and not your bedroom, right? 😅

If can fit the lift of your HDB flat, you will get 98" TV for your 4m x 3m room? 😜 Go BIG or go home? 👍

Yeah man! Go BIG or go home indeed. 🤣

A pity. If not for my shallow pocket, worthless kidneys, micro HDB lift and a living room that's only twice the size of my 4x3 bedroom, I'd surely buy the 292" Samsung's "The Wall" TV to fill up one side of the living room walls. 😜

Try to check got these 2 subtitle functions: 1. Size of subs., 2. Position/location of subs.

Agreed. I was decided whether to get a 100 inch tv or a 120 inch UST. Due to the weight of the tv . I went for a 120 inch laser tv which is lighter and easier to set up.. however UST will never be as good as a tv. Now I see TCL has a 115 inch tv and my concern is whether this can fit into typical hdb lift.

So long as you’re happy .. but you’re not really able to discern 4k so maybe that’s why you’re happy especially if your sources are lower res
