Did transprk two weeks ago at Clearvision.
Last year, I went for consultation at Atlas Eye and decided not to do it as I was going overseas for awhile.

Atlas offers three types of surgery; Transprk, Lasik & RelexSMILE

Clearvision offers only transprk.

From what I can remember, Atlas’s consultation took very long (2-3hrs) but was rather detailed. They had asked for a $200 down-payment if you planned to do the surgery. The staffs were all very polite and professional.

At Clearvision, the consultation was very fast. The staffs were professional and quick. I didn’t have to wait too long for consultation with Dr. Ho despite a crowded clinic.

I settled for Clearvision because I had a friend who just did her surgery at Clearvision and also, Dr. Ho recommended me for CXL for one eye only while Atlas recommended me for both. I asked Dr. Ho why I needed only for one side he said my right eye had a higher degree and it was not needed for the other eye although I have thin corneas.

Left Eye: -4.25, astig -1.1
Right Eye: -5.75, astig -1.6

Day of surgery: I was the first to do in a group of six.
You’ll go through a series of eye drop test to check for allergies then a small talk regarding the surgery and aftercare. Preparation for surgery was fast. It took awhile for the doctor to arrive but everything was finished before the stipulated time given by the staff. While waiting for the Dr., I remembered to increase the font size on my phone.

Surgery: Because of the numbing drops, you don’t even feel a thing. The laser on my left eye took less than a minute, you just have to keep focusing on the red light. Dr Ho was really good in comforting and telling me that it’s almost done… just a few seconds. The right eye took a little longer because of CXL though the laser was equally fast. I didn’t enjoy the CXL as it took a little longer but painless too. Whole surgery took less than 10 minutes.

After being ushered out, the staff handed me the sunglasses and medication. You’ll feel pain in your eyes but bearable. My right eye was much more painful though I’m not sure if it’s because of the additional CXL. Could barely open my eyes in the sunlight. Went home, had lunch and straight away slept. Bearable pain in eyes for the rest of the day.

TIP: Get black out curtains/go into a dark room immediately. Get some food prepared immediately. Surgery was at 12 but I had to be there at 1030 and only had something light beforehand. I was very hungry by the time I reached home.

Day 1 after surgery: Right eye experienced more pain than left. Did not take any sleeping pills or pain killers given. Some say it’s like “cutting onions” but honestly felt like cutting onions would make you tear more than this.

Day 2 after surgery: First consultation after surgery. Dr Ho said the eyes are healing well although it was really tough to open my eyes and navigate and see without the sunglasses.

Day 3 after surgery: Perhaps because I sleep with a fan above me, it caused my eye to experience dryness. Woke up with pain on left eye. After eye-drops, I was fine. I can also finally start to open my eyes and daylight wasn’t as sensitive as the first two days.

Day 6 after surgery: Removal of lens. Felt a lot better after having them taken out although it never bothered me except when I wake up in the morning and feel like my eyes were dry.

It’s Day 15 today and I can see really well though sometimes it’s still blur. I stayed away from using my computer until Day 14 after surgery. Wore sunglasses at all times and tried to minimize phone usage.

Total cost so far-

Surgery & CXL: $4470 (56.07 discount because of referral)
Referral (Just tick on the form when you go for consultation).
1st consultation: $13.00 (medication)
2nd consultation: $52.45 (medication)

I have some lens to let go if anyone is keen pls pm me:

2 boxes of Ciba Vision Focus dailies 5.00 exp 10/21, 08/23 - $45
2 boxes of Ciba Vision Focus dailes 3.75 both exp 08/23 - $45

BI-Weekly Lens

anyone has clearvision referral ? can pm me tks

just went for clearvision pre lasik check.. consultation with dr ho was fast he seems to rush, just assure me that my eyes is healthy for the ops and tell me after that can throw away my specs for good. exit the room in less than 5min, cant blame as he have been repeating the same motion for more than a decades..

just to ask stupid question does the machine auto pilot when correcting different degree of eyes or does the doctor operating the machine do it manually? any chances of mixing up patient's medical data with others causing incorrect correction of the eyes??

My wife and sis did with clearvision, and I went to accompany them for both of their evals and surgery. Not sure about the manual or automatic part. But when you go to the surgery room, the nurse will ask for your name and something else, cant remember if it is DOB or IC number, so I don't think the patient's data will get mixed up.

Questions on clinic

Hi Everyone!

Can anyone share with me...why are most of the post here somewhat recommending the few clinics (maybe the big 3)? it feels like maybe 90% of the people here seems to be going to these clinics.

Can i know if clinic like TTSH Lasik centre is also ok? their charges seems quite reasonable http://www.ttshlasik.com.sg/downloads/price_list.pdf

please share with me

Sorry I can't private message you because I'm a new user here. To be honest I was still deciding between Dr Theng at EEC or Dr Lee at Shinagawa. What would you recommend?
