Hi there, went for a eye assessment at snec, was told not suitable for any form of treatment related to laser on the surface of my eyes due to my thin cornea, was told to do ICL instead. I was reading online and wondering if ICL is the only option for thin cornea and found out that transprk (epi lasik) is also another option for thin cornea, but i wasnt offer any at SNEC other than ICL.. should i go for a second opinion at EEC?

You need to stil take care of your eyes properly so that your eyesight do not worsen......watch TV very close, read book in the dark is a sure way of making yr eyesight go bad whether or not u have lasik is irrelevant lol...

I had lasik 10 over years ago at SNEC Singapore National Eye Centre and its stil working fine....
As u age, the most common eyesight problem is long sightedness or lao hua yan....yr handphone gets further and further away from ur eyes to make out the text clearly lol....:s13:
How old were you when you did lasik? Still contemplating really hard if I should go for it now that I am 30 years old haha.

There's a minimum cornea thickness for laser surgery (~560 nm). What is your cornea thickness, and how high is your myopia? These factors will affect whether you're still a good candidate for other vision correcting procedures.. amongst other factors like regularity of cornea surface/shape.

Btw, TransPRK is also a surface laser vision correcting procedure.

Less than 500 and high degree of 800.. i guess that's y? So maybe ECC will also ask mi to go for ICL.. but is ICL worth it? Haha..

yes i have similar cornea thickness and myopia. I went to 2 doctors and both did not recommend lasik. You can seek a 2nd opinion just to be sure. But i know consult at EEC is not cheap (S$200+?) so you may want to check out Shinagawa for the $22 lasik assessment for confirmation.

Worth it or not will depend on personal expectation and preference. For me i think it's quite worth it as it gives me freedom from specs, even just for a few years.

Hi guys, is Clearvision Lasik package of $3,888 a cheaper alternative comparing to EEC or Shinagawa ?

Wanted to try Shinagawa but heard the total is around $4k+.

Hi guys, I would like to check if it is worth doing lasik at 30 years old? Heard its because I will get presbyopia in the years to come. Anyone else did it at my age or even older?

Hello, I’m around your age and apparently, it’s a good age to do. Doctor mentioned that you might get an increase of degree due to the daily thing you do and if you do not take care of your eyes.

Definitely. Lasik surgery is not ideal for younger chaps or those that want to do contact sports. Getting hit by force on the head can alter the surgeries made also

does anyone recommend a full eye screening before getting lasik.? does anyone have any recommendation?

2ndly, my degree is somewhat high,
375 on the left 675 on the right.

on the right, I see things like close up eye will painful sometimes.

I have this issue too (painful if see things too closeup e.g. reading too much on handphone). Plus my eyes will tear after looking at the the laptop for too long. Does anyone have this issue and manage to get lasik done especially for monovision?
