For those who had done lasik, do you do half year/yearly checkup?

Hi all,
initially I shortlisted clearvision for laser surgery as I wanted to do transprk. But I do noticed SNEC also have transprk and it’s call stream light transprk. Anyone know the difference between safe sight transprk (clearvsion) and stream light transprk (SNEC).?

Did my ICL with Dr Theng. He is very nice and assuring. Guess he is so used to dealing with nervous patients

I chose icl over lasik, as I am afraid of the flap.. no idea why also. I wanted to do smile relex but my cornea can’t accept, super disappointed. So I volunteer for icl instead even though I spent 2 months reading on lasik and SMILE and nothing on ICL

long story short - everything done in one day, no pain, just 4 hours post surgery my eye sight seems as good as when I wear contact lenses just that have some halos when there’s light. am happy so far (day 1)

day 2:
Went for the first day check up, no problem detected and have 6/6 vision. Halos (known problem) still there but doc say will be less noticeable as time passes so nothing to worry. Haven’t tried driving at night yet so not sure how it will affect me.

Day to day function fine, can watch tv, use computer, reply work email, use hp. but still on Mc so I take doc advise to rest my eyes more by napping instead

Only difficult part was to wash face and hair and have to wait for 2 weeks to start exercising again

Overall painless experience as promised by the doc. The most painful thing is the 3 bright lights u stare into during surgery.

still satisfied as of day 2

anyone picked icl over lasik voluntarily? thinking about the reversibility but heard there's higher chance of cataracts?

Might be the different machine they use. W Eye Clinic also has TransPRK with the Schwind Amaris but theirs is 750 vs the newer model 1050 that Clearvision uses. I suggest u give them a call. I personally did TransPRK with Clearvision in Dec 2021 and i'm super happy with the results.

How was the process like for the transPRK procedure and feedback for Dr Huang? Do they check your eyesight again before the procedure? I went for the pre-assessment but I thought the process was rushed through. The degree was 50 degree lesser than my pre-assessment done at Shinagawa. Not saying which is better/more accurate but thought to double check before the actual procedure. Thanks in advance!

There will be another round of assessment done before that. A group of 6 including me reported at 10am, went through all the tests, eye drops, briefing on post op care by nurses before the first guy went in for the procedure at 1130.

I had to repeat multiple times at one of the machines, thought I might not qualified last min. Went through 5-6 times before positive.

The procedure is very fast, Dr Huang held onto my forehead for the correct posture, 2nd review tmr. Take out bandage next Tues

1) They don't have any smile relex
2) The appointment turn around i heard is quite fast

The LHS : 350 , RHS 650 , astigmatism is 100 both side.
Any other alternative?

I have done pre-assessment at Shinagawa and Clearvision.
1. Shinagawa: Staff were professional, however, seems like clinic only provides intralase lasik (bladeless, flap creation). Response via Whatsapp very quickly, assessment took 2.5hours.
2. Clearvision: Felt that assessment was done in a rush, but doc (Dr Huang) was alright, answered my questions patiently. Clinic provides transPRK and Smilerelex. Response via Whatsapp very quickly too, assessment took 1.5 hours.

Decided to go for transPRK as I thought it's better in the long term though recovery is longer. Booked surgery date with Clearvision mid July (earliest slot quoted was end June).

Not sure if these clinics can claim Medisave, suppose you will be eligible to use Medisave since the power between both eyes is 300.

Hi, I’m going to do ICL with Dr Theng next week. Was wondering how your eyes are doing now? Have you started work after the surgery?

By second day I felt ok, can use computer and watch tv for short period of time so as not to strain myself.
the googles are not comfortable to sleep in so I didn’t sleep well for the entire week I had to wear them. As soon as I stopped wearing I slept like a baby

I’m day 10 now or so and all seems fine and feeling happy

on my day 7 review doc say I was recovering well. I asked doc if I can lift weights and run , he gave me all clear but have yet to really start sweating much as abit more kiasee and wanted to keep sweat out of eyes

happy with the whole procedure so far

Anyone can share the recovery for transPRK. How long to get back to work/daily activities? A little worried about the timeline/recovery period to be able to check emails/reply to texts etc. and vision outdoors. Thanks!
