I had three times of eye assessments by two different doctors on three different visits to Singapore National Eye Centre. The total costs came to be about $400. The Lasik Surgery will cost $2996. In addition, doctor advised me to do Lasik Xtra for another $1669. Lastly, additional tests of Endothelial Cell Count(EXCC) costs another $64.20. All in all, I have to cough out about $5130, excluding medicines and eye drops after surgery. My degree is 900 each. I think it is too expensive some more it's a government hospital. Any recommendation?

boy, that's pretty expensive.

try attending some of the free forum, where they will give free assessment or a minimal fee.

i did a free assessment at LSC, Lasik Surgery Clinic for $1. I think Shinagawa charges less than $50 for the assessment fee.

TTSH also has LASIK forum regularly.

I did my my epilasik surgery from clearvision. my degree was very imbalanced. my vision became close to perfect after surgery.

i had been informed that vision recovery will take 1 week, while it may take 6 months for the vision to stabilise. but it is actually faster, my vision is 6/6 about 2 months after the surgery. dr ho is very experienced and friendly!

I done my lasik many years ago at National Eye Centre by Dr Jon. Currently my vision had deterioriated after more than 10 years of lasik, was thinking of doing another surgery to correct my vision and came across Dr Ho's Clinic at some Road Show.

But one think I realised is that Dr Ho wear spectacles... ...

i suggest you to go for assessment at other clinic to get a second opinion.

$5k is a little steep, and i don't what is the condition of your eyes tat render the doctor to reccomend you go take up lasik xtra. $5k+ is like the price of relex smile.

also, if you compare the prices between SNEC with other clinics, SNEC is on the high side.

Cos of my high degree so doc told me to take up Lasik Xtra to strengthen the Cornea. Anyway I had registered with LSC and Shanagawa for assessment as recommended by u. I looked at their websites and it costs below $100. SNEC carroted me gao gao.

oh forgot about your high degree. attend their forum, rather than going for the assessment first. they will give discount on the assessment.

Bro, how much did LSC quote u? Besides LSC, have you shopped around?

I had checked the prices for ClearVision, Eagle Eye, Shinagawa, Eye Surgeon and LSC. and i think Eagle Eye is one of the cheapest for no touch epi lasik, and LASEK is cheapest at Eye Surgeon. As for LSC, I think there are a few bad review online.

Most of the clinic listed surgery fees on those their website. Bear in mind to check whether the fee is inclusive of GST.

i am thinking of doing PRK at Eye Surgeon. Initially wanted to do LASEK, but after speaking to the doctor at Eye Surgeon, I changed my mind.

btw, other than reviews and reputations, maybe can take into consideration of the cost per follow up. The $$ will add up as well. For eg i kept going back to see the doc cos I had some slow recovery problem during the first month after epi-lasik.

Also some clinics have tied up with those bloggers, if u quote their name, u can get some discount.
