Has anyone had over 1200 degree myopia per eye and managed to get full correction (ie achieve 20/20 vision) after doing lasik?

Highly unlikey for someone with such high myopia. Reason being your eyeballs would have stretched quite abit and your nerves behind would be damaged.

How is your vision now? Any troubles focusing your vision at night?

Hello, don't worry you are in good hands. I did Epi-Lasik 8 years ago under Dr Julian too. Took me 3 months to fully recover and get 6/4.5 vision for both eyes. During these 3 months my vision fluctuated a lot, sometimes it becomes damn clear, sometimes blur. Basically all these things that are happening to you are side effects of Epi-Lasik. It varies for individuals. I have friends whose eyes hurt like hell for the first 2 days but they get perfect vision in 1 week. One friend of mine didn't experience pain or discomfort at all and got perfect vision in 2 weeks. So chill man, everything will be fine for you. Cheers!:)

Good for you! I'm now 8th month post surgery, still having trouble focusing at night.

I had the same doctor as you, Dr J. Theng at ECC.

I was thinking of going back for an evaluation, hoping if any correction or procedure can be done to improve my eyesight

Nope. Perfectly fine leh haha.

Just had my consultation at LSC yesterday and the doc (Dr Marc Tay) mentioned that my eyes were in good condition for any kind of procedure and did not push me to do Relax Smile, which was a relief because I read many reviews that the clinic is pushy. All staff were nice to me and provided good service. Will most probably be doing Lasik, hope everything goes well because apparently mine is a clear cut case :s22:

vision still good

I went for epi-lasik 3-4 years ago under dr julian theng too. The first week was really painful. I was constantly tearing and couldnt open my eyes fully.

After that my eyes were always dry. I used many boxes of eye drops too. Vision took about 1.5 months to clear up. After that it was all good with 6/6.

Recently I feel that my astig is coming back. My night vision is not as good. I remembered dr theng and another doctor also at eagle eye clinic saying that lasik cannot help much with astig (I could be wrong). Sometimes my eyes feel dry when I wake up too. I think this is one of the side effects of epi lasik.

My mysopia has reached 1000 degrees and astigmatism is 200 for both eyes now, which is near 100 degrees increase in a year. I did not change my spec prescription this much though. I'm 20+, but my eyesight is still not stable and has been increasing every year, so I'm rather scare now. Not sure if I'm suitable for lasik..

I have never consider lasik before eye test today, so would like to find out more. Govt or private? Can I have some recommendation of doctors?

Which type lasik surgery do yall choose? Any complications? I'm afraid that my eyesight may return or side effects of the lasik.

My left eye is about 600+ degrees and my right eyes is about 900+ degrees. I also have astigmatism of about 100 - 200. Will lasik or lasek be more suitable for me?

1 month Lasek update:

I just went for the Lasek 1 month check up. Eye pressure on the high side. Doctor says perhaps it's due to my diligence of putting the eye steroids 4 times a day. Also, my right eye is 6/6 and my left eye is close to 6/6, close to perfect. I need to come back in 2-3 weeks time just to check for eye pressure again. Currently, I'm only on eye gel prescription and adviced to put eye drop minimally 4 times a day.

In short, my eyes feel great and vision feels good. 1 month just nice as I left for my holiday yesterday. An advice for those who will be going for Lasek option, it's important that you know that the recovery time is indeed long and varies from person to person. During the first 3 weeks, it's normal that the vision will be very blur and fluctuates as though the vision is without specs, pre surgery.

As for myself, vision will continue to improve over the next few months and my next check up will be the 3 months update.

You need to go for assessment and see what the doctor have to say. The type of surgery depends on the thickness, shape of your cornea, and perhaps some other factor.

Hi, I went along with EEC with the similar services that LSC offered me but the cost was much more higher at $4675. I just went back to EEC for post one month lasik review and was disappointed that I still have leftover myopia of about 25 - 50 degree on each eye. The Astigmatism was much more higher with over 100 degree on my left eye. Hence, I still cannot see clearly. I will be going back for follow up in two weeks' time for further investigation.
Hi, did you manage to resolve your situation in the end? I just went to LSC today and Dr Marc Tay also told me that this is my only option (Standard Bladeless Lasik with Lasik Xtra) because he said my degree and astig is rather high (1075 and 975).

I actually have a consultation with Dr Julian Theng at EEC this coming Tuesday but now I'm not sure if I should still go for the consultation because its quite ex and if I don't do the surgery with them, it's as good as saying goodbye to $255. :(

Can anyone else advise what would be the lasik options available for my kind of degree? Is the Lasik Xtra really necessary? It sounds like alot of money for some eye drops, I'm just wondering if I'm being scammed. If it's really necessary and better for overall condition, I would be happy to pay the extra amount.

1 month post epi lasik

It has been 1 month since i did epi lasik @ EEC. Vision is still blurry, doesn't fluctuate. It's more like stagnant at this blurriness. Vision has not improved at all ever since bandage lens are removed. Quite worried. Going for my post 1 month review this coming Thursday. Will update again.

Why snec is not as popular here?

And anybody knows if can go for 2 lasik evaluation tests by 2 different clinics in 1 day? Will affect results?
