Did epi lasik by Dr Julian Theng last thu, they were surprised that on the 2nd day, my eyes can open fully, can see quite well and i look as tho i have never did the lasik. Tho i did experience the burning sensation during the first few days and i did eat the painkiller twice.

I know the eyesight will fluctuate but currently it seem to deteriorate as compared to first and second day. Like blur, can't focus, not sharp, for both far and near (eg. looking at phone). Why like that =(

Just now went for IPL, won't affect right?

Sent from RCP using GAGT

Perfectly normal. The first few days I rem I dun even feel like opening my eyes, just wanna slp

hi all,

i finally did my lasik with snec after 3month of waiting (due to prolong wearing contact lens, need time to heal the eye ball)

the procedure was fast, like within 30min and im out of the clinic already

1st day, right after the lasik is done, can see clearly with min blur vision,am still confident in driving myself back (but didnt do so, cos wife is with me)

2-3 hr after the lasik, the burning sensation came in,eye totally cannot open.
tears keep auto roll out. force myself to sleep.
right after i woke up at about evening time, everything was good
i can see thing clearing, no blur image.

day 2, i can do thing normally already, can go work, can drive, need not wear sunglasses dun even feel any irritation at all.

till now (5days after doing lasik) all is good, enjoying my brand new eye sight.

on a sidenote,i think snec is much cheaper compare to others

Just calculated my total cost for the whole epi-lasik including review, med, eye drop and whatever.

Total spent $4006.60

I think consider quite cheap bah

My colleague did her lasik a few years back. She is trying to persuade me to go for one. But I seriously think that unless you are able to take good care of your eyesight (not lying down to play iPhone/read etc), it defeats the purpose as short sightedness will recur?

i think lying down read/ use phone or in dark use phone causing short-sightedness is a myth. it will strain ur eyes, but wont cause short sightedness..there are people that dont do that and still get short-sightedness and still increase every year and need new specs.. there are people who use phone in dark, close to eyes every night and dont get short sightedness. but definitely straining ur eyes is not a good thing laa

I'm considering lasik but seems like it's no perfect solution since many of you still have problems with it. Hmm...

11th mth post surgery updates: Went to EEC for a consultation as I felt that my eyesight has not improved, and the side effects (Halo and Glare) still bother me in low-light environment.

EEC staff told me that Dr Julian is fully packed till Feb 2018, and had scheduled me with Dr Stephen instead. Subsequently, it was changed to Dr Lynn on the appointment day.

So I went through the eyesight tests (Oculyzer & Refraction), and found out that my left eye’s myopia had increased another 25 degrees, now +0.75 with astigmatism -0.50. Right eye still remains the same with astigmatism -0.25.

Dr Lynn didn’t give me a concrete solution, and told me that there is nothing more to do on this “slight” variations in Lasik surgery. I suppose no enhancement/corrective surgery is needed.

I was then re-scheduled with Dr Julian on the next appointment, as ultimately I’m his patient and Dr Lynn would need to seek his advise on this matter.

Came to my surprise that Dr Julian is available in early Jan 2018, not Feb 2018 as informed by EEC staff previously.

I hope for the best that Dr Julian can give me a solution to my problem.

Do think twice before make a choice for Lasik surgery. If not, you might be unfortunate and gonna live with this “slight” variation problem permanently just like me.

Hi all, I will be doing epi lasik next week..

After that will be going overseas to cold country in one month..

Just wondering have anyone tried taking plane 1 month after lasik? Any issues? Will there be dryness in cold country?

Thanks!

high astigmatism

Hi guys! Could anyone advise me on the successful rate of lasik (or any other type of surgery) for high astigmatism of 400 degree? I also have a degree of about 700.... :look:

having a similar situation as you now.

went for lasik 2 weeks back at EEC under Dr Theng (about 600 each both eyes myopia and 200 astig). from 3rd day onwards, sight has remained about the same (6/6 and 6/7.5) but the 6/6 is fuzzy and blur, not sharp almost as it you are guessing the letter rather than seeing it.

i doubt my sight is going to improve much. driving and looking far is quite annoying because what used to be clear with specs is now blurry. will wait for another 2 weeks then speak to Dr Choi (like you said, Dr Theng is busy till late Jan) to see if i belong to the minority that requires an enhancement.

if you are rich enough, you might want to consider a second opinion at Jerry Tan cos i read this while i was googling around - http://www.jerrytaneyesurgery.com/lasik-complications

i'm not trying to scare the rest into not doing LASIK, in fact i spoke to alot of friends who have done it like about 8-10 and all of them (yes all of them) said LASIK was one of the best things that ever happened to them. that's why i took the plunge even though i quite old liao, didn't know i so unlucky lol

Agreed that previously my vision was clear with specs, but now looking far ahead is quite annoying at times.

My eyesight was tested at EEC to be 6/6 on both eyes, but I still have trouble reading, and at times need to guess those blurred letters. Maybe due to some degree residual leftover, it is not very sharp to read those letters.

Do update us on your visit with Dr Choi. However, I doubt that he will give you any concrete solution, and will probably ask you to wait for a few month for the eyesight recovery to stabilise.

To those who did your LASIK at EEC or somewhere else, do share with us your recovery journey.

Been having headaches here and there and I am thinking my specs are causing it. I didnt need to wear spec until i went in the army at 21 yo. I am now 28.

I am thinking carefully if I should go for lasik. My eye degree around 275L 275R with astigmatism.

Any one can advice me further on lasik?

Mine was done at EEC and next Monday is my one month review.
I feel that my eyesight isn't as clear as it shld be nowadays, compared to wearing specs. Hope it's just temporary.
