I think you have to research on the clinics that you’re interested in either by online or speaking to your friends whom have done LASIK before.

But no matter what clinic you choose, go for the LASIK assessment first. At least you know which procedure you’re suitable for and from there you can weigh your options.

I just got rejected by Dr Lee at Shinagawa for lasik due to my high myopia (around 800 for both eyes), high astigmatism (around 200 for both eyes), slightly below average corneal thickness at around 525 and steeper corneal curvature (higher risk for ectasia if I rmb correctly). :(

He also calculated my remaining corneal thickness after lasik to be 279 and his minimal is 280. I read online that the general minimal thickness is 250 but Dr Lee kept emphasising that he is a very conservative doctor so I guess I should just trust my doctor and accept the fate that I am not suitable for lasik :( Very sad and disappointed but I still highly recommend Dr Lee from Shinagawa as I can feel that he really cares about his patient instead of just wanting to earn money from the lasik surgery.

Don't think you need to feel sad and disappointed. If cannot means cannot don't push it, better to play it safe. Specs or contact lens will do unless you are very sure or left with no choice after all Lasik is not without risks or side effects.

i want ask ah,high myopia means the retina kena stretched.. so if do lasik,the degree back to zero, it means the retina dont get stretched anymore? or it dont work this way one

I've always heard horrid stories about side effects or the person started wearing glasses again.
Anyone who done it more than 10yrs ago can verify?
