Hello guys

I just did Relex Smile at LSk Clinic Paragon 13th Floor. Its been more than 100 hours since my surgery, and my vision is still blur? is this normal? As the Doctor says that the vision will improve within 1 - 2 weeks, before it will fluctuate for the next 3 months and eventually will achieve perfect eyesight

As im typing this now, my vision is still 65% clear. Cant see small words on computer screen properly neither can I see things from far away clearly.

Any of you did Relex Smile at LSK CliniC Paragon 13th Floor here? Please share your experience. And when can you guys achieve perfect vision like we had always wanted?

Indeed it caused me permanent dry eyes I guess. Need to apply eye drops every 15-30 mins. Sadly thats worst than wearing specs isnt it. And they dont seem to care after collecting your $$$. They will also ask for more $$$ although you have not recover fully.

Just wondering anyone have his/her money back if it is deemed not successful?

Stay off the eye drops as spon as ppssible. If you continue to use it, the eyes will forever be dry. I old man did lasik, stopped using the eye drops once the prescribed medication over. Surr feels dry initially, but will only get better over time.

I went to two different clinic for assessment recently and results were pretty similar. My cornea thickness was about 512-514 for both eyes which still falls under the average range but on the lower side. However, my myopia and astig was pretty high, ~700 for both eyes and astig was 200 and 300 each.

Mt E
- Recommended procedure: EPI-Lasik

- Maximum correction:
R -7.00/-1.00X
L -6.50/-1.75X

This would leaves behind quite a lot. They let me try on the degree I would be getting after surgery and I am pretty comfortable with it (cos my contact lens is always on the lower side, about a 100 degree diff)

- Contact lens: promise that if regression occurs, I would be able to put back my lens once again.

- Regression: would likely not occur, and if so will be looking at ~50 or so.

ok here is the thing, I have a number of friends who did lasik before, all they could say is they are no longer able to put back their lens anymore.

So I went to Paragon (LSC) for a second opinion.
- Recommended procedure - Standard bladeless lasik

- Maximum correction: will not be able to tell until the surgery happens. aiming for full but based on his experience 90-95% should be fine. Again there is no promise.

- Contact lens:no one will know how your cornea will be like until the surgery is over. Which kinda make sense to me in a way.

- Regression: chances of regression is high based on the degree i am starting with.

Personally I am more comfortable with the second doctor. I think the outcome varies among individuals.

Is it true that prolonged use of soft contact lens will reduce one's cornea thickness?

Anyone hear undergo the same situation as me? Would like to hear more about it. I honestly can't decide if to take the risk.

Seem like EEC is popular over here. May I know what is the cost of the eye assessment? which doctor is better? Their website never put the fee, so how much is their lasik?

Just came back from eye assessment from LSC. Doctor recommended me Lasik Bladeless Standard at $3198 + Lasik Xtra at $1284 + Medication at $85.6 = $4566.76 including GST. After discount of $250 go down to $4300.

No other option for me as doctor said my myopia at 900 degree each is too high and no guarantee the myopia will not come back and come back at most 50-100 degree each eye after 5 to 7 years.

Hi,

Did you ended up going for the surgery? I went to LSC yesterday and was offered and told the same thing as yours

Hi, I went along with EEC with the similar services that LSC offered me but the cost was much more higher at $4675. I just went back to EEC for post one month lasik review and was disappointed that I still have leftover myopia of about 25 - 50 degree on each eye. The Astigmatism was much more higher with over 100 degree on my left eye. Hence, I still cannot see clearly. I will be going back for follow up in two weeks' time for further investigation.

LSC is now offering $1 for evaluation and their lasik prices are transparent, can be found on their website.

Re

Hi

Lasik is not a cure-all for all eye problems, right? I'm wearing spec for a few years now and finding it very inconvenient.

Recently, I met a friend who's no longer wearing spec. I was told by him that he did a lasik some years back. However, he still cannot read the smallest text during an eye sight check and wearing spec in this instance is still required

So, would wearing spec better than having lasik to correct my vision? I know that lasik can also cause more later problems if not properly done.

What are the good lasik clinics to recommend?

Thanks

I did mine some time back in 2011 or 2012 with shinagawa. The consultant who did the testing told me that the testing stage is the most essential stage since the doctors use those results to correct your eyesight. You cannot cheat or try to force/guess.

Mine was corrected to perfect 20/20 plus I can see the line below that when I went for the post op review after a month. Everything is good and smooth, and no significant changes to my eyesight. Life is good. :D

I think it was the epi-lasik procedure. There wasn't much option back then - just bladeless or with blade.

Dry eyes is a common side effect but it doesn't really affect me much. First week just spam eyedrops, then within the first month just slowly ease off to get used to it. Now, it is just occasional use of eyewash, but mostly for my own cleaning of my eyes when got dust any all. I have one bottle of Optrex since don't know when one, so no worries on the dry eyes after 5 years. I had my restored perfect vision by the following day after the procedure.

I have a friend who did the microdermabrasion lasik at eagle eye. The healing takes much longer and the care with eye drops took about 3-5 months for him.

thanks.

was it Dr. Lee Sao Bing who performed the ops for you?

from what I read, LASEK and Epi-LASIK cut a thinner layer of the cornea surface, as compared to LASIK, and maybe that's the reason for a lower probability of dry eyes. and I'm glad to hear that you have a perfect eyesight. initially I thought laser penetration through the thicker cornea will not be as effective, but you had proved otherwise.

your friend must had done LASEK, where alcohol and brush are used to remove the top surface of the cornea, hence the longer recovery time.

thanks for sharing.
