Hi, want to share my Epi-Lasik exp. so far.
Pre-Lasik
Went to three different clinics to do Lasik evaluation cos I wonder if there will be discrepancies from clinic to clinic. Lucky my eyes are all okay with all three doctor giving the go ahead for any procedure.
First,Atlas Eyes,
- Check was pretty comprehensive, they will chat with you to tell you all the risks and the pros and cons of different procedures.
- Dr Chan was pretty professional and very detailed in laying the options for me to choose although he insisted Relex SMILE. Took about 3-4 hours there.
Second clinic was Shinigawa,
- Checks were comprehensive too and surprised that they use iPad to key in the details, quite advance.
- Dr Lee suggested Intra Lasik but I was not keen on cuts or flaps. He was not willing to perform Epi-Lasik for me since my degree was high. Was there for about 2 hours.
Third clinic I went Clearvision,
- Comprehensive checks too and after that they will send you to the main clinic just beside it at Mount E. where Dr Ho office is at. (I do agree with someone earlier in the thread that waiting can be a bit long cos there are quite a number of people but it did not affect my decision to choose this clinic since I know I want to do Epi-Lasik. Dr Ho does look through your results and tell you if you are good to go or have any complications and you can follow up with questions then. I think the most important thing is to ask the right questions.)
- It was a quick chat for me since I'm all okay. The whole process was about 4 hours.
Eventually decided on Clearvision cos I did previously research on the procedures, the clinic and what to expect.
Surgery Day
Got there about 10.30am, paid and did some test to confirm no change in results. Filled up some forms, the assistants will go through the medication process after surgery the do's and don'ts, after that started dressing up for surgery. Surgery started at about 12pm, I was the 3rd person to go in. Quite scared at first but Dr Ho was reassuring. It was pretty quick and in no time I was out and escorted to a dimmed room to rest and put the medicine eye drops. After all the drops the assistants handed me the medications, sunglasses and said I could leave already. I could hardly open my eyes on the way home. I looked like an emo kid with tears streaming down my face at the back seat of the cab. Can feel a little discomfort, so I hit the bed when I got home. I felt better after the nap.
Week 1
Did not really feel any discomfort or complications after the first day. Kept to my medication timings and took vitamins to aid my healing. I was not used to contact lenses so I could feel it when I close my eyes to sleep. Did not wash my face or touch my eyes that much cos scared infection. First follow up, Dr Ho, indicated that healing is going well. Second follow up, I got the contact lense bandage removed which was a huge relief, haha. My vision was blur at first but it got better as days went.
Week 2-4
Started using computer again. Vision still a bit blurry at week 2. Week 3-4 my vision became sharper. Nothing major. Stayed out of sunlight for the whole month as much as possible.
Week 5-Now
Can see quite well without blurs. Eyes do feel dry in the morning when I wake up but goes away after a while. Continued with eye drops as instructed.
This has been my exp. up till today. I am quite happy with the results. Do take note to save up a bit more than what the procedures states as follow up medication and consultation adds to cost too for any clinics. The Feel free to ask me any questions, I will try to answer base on my exp.
