Hahahaha I'm very disappointed I cannot do LASIK because I can imagine all the things made easy if I could do away with glasses. I wear contact lens everyday even if I don't have to go out just because glasses are too uncomfortable for me. Too bad I'm not suitable :p

Why don't you consider doing ICL?

My degree also very high, above 700, not sure got reach 800 or not because the tester said 700++, but my lens is so fat the it goes beyond the frame. OWNDAYS said bo bian because degree high so cannot make lens thinner :s13:

About 10k for both eyes and risk is higher apparently! (read it on Clearvision's website).

But I think it is a better choice if you think long term. It's reversible thus it allows for cataract surgery in future. The removal of corneal tissue during Lasik may make it more difficult to accurately calculate the power of the replacement lens to treat cataracts. There's UV protection and it does not induce dry eyes.
I am suitable for Lasik but I think I might still go for ICL.

with that cost, i rather wear daily disposable contacts everyay for the rest of my life as well.
furthermore, not permanent solution :s22:

only upside, is yes, it is an alternative for people who cant do LASIK. ( less impt)
the main crux is the long term issue whereby the surgeon having a problem to calculate the lens to be inserted after cataract surgery.
Even people with no LASIK done , doctors can already screw up the power. Imagine if LASIK is done....

To Wanderlustz and MatchaAddict,

I had posted similiar encounter as Wanderlustz here. Like what Dr Theng said, blurred vision seems to be common. Having trouble under low lighting environment.

Also, he did brush off and wasn’t keen when enhancement procedure is mentioned during the discussion.

Currently i’m about 1.5yrs post surgery, still trying to manage my eyesight.

Hi all,

I have undergone EPI-LASIK procedure by Dr. Julian Theng at EEC. I currently have a similar problem of residual astigmatism and blurriness.

Do you all know how common is it and will the eyes continue to recover after the first 3 months.

Thanks.

Hello! I signed up for an account just to get some advices from the people here who have already had lasik done.

I have booked appointment with eagle eye, clear vision and lsc. Any other eye centres I should try also?

About a year ago, I was torn between EEC and Atlas eye. They were actually recommended by friends and colleagues. But it happened that I discovered that my aunt had the same treatment with EEC and she wasn't happy about it (considering her operation happened 2 yrs ago with them).

I had my surgery with atlas eye btw, and I would say Dr David Chan is great handling my case(before to post-op). He's also attentive answering my question that time a week after my operation.

Hi, I haven’t recover from the residual astigamatism and it has became permanent. No choice but to live with it.

I would say Dr Theng is quite unprofessional for post surgery. For those who seek to do lasik surgery with him to think twice and not because of this “remarkable” reviews by celebrities and bloggers.

I hope you can have miracle to recover from this.

why do you want to believe the words of a clinic which doesn't offer the service?

ICL is reversible and correctable.

invasive wise, there's no laser beaming involved. it like a permanent contact lenses, but it's rest behind the corneal.

SNEC is offering it.

but does icl adapt to the change of the myopia. so lets say i do icl but the degree still increase.

that is why they only do surgery after your degree has stabilised

Since ICL is reversible, the lens can be taken out and replaced by one with your new degree.

yes. money also must be indispensable since the cost of the op is so expensive... the most costly procedure

whats your degree like?
honest and sincere opinion... dont do it.
presbyopia definitely will sit it.
doctor will tell u " do monovision"
meaning one eye see far one eye see near...

i mean... if you were to just sit back and think about it.... does it make sense to do a permanent procedure which CANT solve all your problems... :s22:

i could ramble on and on but.... i shall stop:s12:

Hi,

Just here to share my experience, hopefully it helps.

Both eyes 2.5 degree, have slight astig but cannot remember what it was.

I am post 3 weeks after doing SMILE wtih Dr David Chan at Atlas.

Pre-Lasik

I had a comprehensive eye checkup done by the nurses at Atlas. Just have to call them up to arrange, quite affordable also. At the end, I met with Dr Chan where he check my eyes again to tell me which procedures I was eligible for - which was all. I decided to go with SMILE cause I did not want to deal with flap related issues next time, and did not want to suffer the long recovery time for surface ablative procedure. I paid 4.9ish k, but I think the prices went up. Can check out on their website, quite transparent.

Lasik and Post-Lasik
Lasik day nothing eventful. They will do another check before you go into the theatre. The nurses were friendly, answered all questions, and even kept you company while waiting for your turn. It was such personal touches to service that truly amazed me. Headed into the operating theatre where Dr Chan awaits. He will in a very friendly and calm way explain each step that you are undergoing. For example, while youre looking up the machine into that red dot, he will calmly tell you that it will disappear soon and not to be worried. When doing each eyes, the nurse will also count down for you so you know what to expect.

Everything was very bright after. I went back and crashed for the day (woke up here and there to drop medications). The next day, my eyes were perfectly fine already. I could see very well, handle the brightness as well, and minimal halos and starburst. Met Dr Chan 1 day after and 1 week after, where everything was perfect with 6/6 vision. Over the next few weeks, my eyesight fluctuates. So things within approx 4-6metres, I can see quite clearly. But things will still be blurry at further distance(of course, not expecting super vision at marvellous distance lah. Seeing the doctor for post 1 month review soon.

Hi, how do you find it so far? Do you still experience dry eye and blurry vision now?

I was considering LSC at Paragon but have seen some negative feedback about their irresponsible post surgery attitude, which kinda pull me off a bit. Dr Eugene at LSC was recommending Lasik+CXL or ReLEX Smile for my high power (around -6.5 each eye). I am not sure is this a marketing gimmicks after seeing the negative reviews.

I’ve saw some good feedback about Dr Chan at Atlas and arranged for a pre-assessment on the coming Friday for a 2nd opinion. How is your experience with Atlas so far? Do you mind to share your referral code for me to get some discount please? Will appreciate it very much.

Thanks.

Hi, just want to add some views. I think Atlas is more towards Relex then Lasik, thats what they offered me although I green light for all procedure too. My friend did it with them and indeed he did Relex, no major complications after his op. The checks are very comprehensive. I did EpiLasik with Clearvision after visiting three clinics, Atlas and Shinigawa also.

One reason I did not do Lasik or Relex is because both will cut eye somewhere and once something is cut, it will heal back but not fully. But if you found the Dr Chan confident during the checkup, go ahead cos you must be comfortable to trust the Dr. But always ask questions about your eyes, procedure, pre and post op stuff. Remember this type of eye surgery is optional not compulsory.
