Hi Jazzy, what is your prescription currently?
Both methods are alright and are really pretty similar to be honest.
i would recommend the cheaper option if you really wish to go ahead with the surgery.

I don't usually recommend LASIK unless it is really necessary because i have seen many complaints after from patients who still need glasses and the after effects that come with it years after..

Just a fact: ask doctors if they do LASIk on themselves and see what their responses are :s13: ( they all do wear glasses themselves :s8:)

If Lasik is not good, what do you recommend?

If Lasik is not good, what do you recommend?

at age 30, u are in the midst of transitioning into presbyopic stages which means roughly 6-10 years more spectacles free (not guaranteed). also not to mention a weaker cornea and in future will affect IOL (CATARACT SURGERY) power calculations.

why put yourself through all that unless you really detest glasses?

but you're doing your eyes a disservice. i mean we all only have 2 eyes... i just wish more people did more research instead of going under LASER as though it is nothing. i cant say what is better for each individual and it is of course a personal choice but i give advice from my honest, sincere point of view.

Hi, I haven’t recover from the residual astigamatism and it has became permanent. No choice but to live with it.

I would say Dr Theng is quite unprofessional for post surgery. For those who seek to do lasik surgery with him to think twice and not because of this “remarkable” reviews by celebrities and bloggers.

I hope you can have miracle to recover from this.

Reviews got me inquisitive as well. I rely on others experience that time and I certainly need that hear. However, I find that there are times you need to pay attention to reviews and rather grasp the personal experience or referral.

I did my lasik at 36 years old. Even if presbyopic comes in at 40, I have no regrets.

I would say just do it

Hello all, I am 27 this year and i am intending to do lasik within the next coming months. I read through the Forum and understand that SNEC and ECC has better reviews compared to the other clinics. Anyone did Lasik at either centres and may i know the full cost for the operation?

Hello!

I posted earlier about failing the LASIK test at Shinagawa.
Decided to go for second opinion at Natasha Lim's yesterday and failed LASIK test again.

Basically my cornea is so thin that even LASIK procedures like SMILE/PRK is not suitable for me. :s13:

However, I'm a perfect candidate for ICL so she recommended me to go for that instead. Much more expensive than LASIK, but I'm quite determined to get rid of my glasses life, so I'm excited for the op end of the month! :s13:

Thanks for all the helpful posts in this thread, they were very enlightening. Having read many posts, I'm also considering having my LASIK done at Shinagawa. Would any kind soul be willing to PM me their referral code? Thank you very much! :) :)

Sometimes it’s good to set your expectations right.
Lasik can help reduce your dependence on contact lens or spectacles but to expect perfect eyesight and no astigmatism is not very realistic.

Anything better is a bonus.
Even the doctor didn’t guarantee perfect perfect no residual astigmatism

How was the experience for you and how is it for you now? :D

It’s was one of the best decision of my life.
I go Swimming and jogging without worrying
Corrected my myopia and astigmatism
6 years have passed and I still see 6/6

That's great to hear!

Doctor recommended that I just correct one eye's astig instead of both since my right eye only has 50 and she think it's not worth the extra money to correct it. Can't wait for my turn :D

The thing with ICL is you recover faster than Lasik
The first day after op was bad cos splitting headache as the eyes and brain adjusting to get used to a foreign body- the lens inside.
Just go home take your medicine have a good sleep.
