anyone done Lasik when Astigmatism is high? or is it other kind of surgery. Any recommendations?
LASIK better than Smile for treatment of astgmatism becos have eye tracking and rotation adjustment, but maybe cannot do if high degree + High astig as have to add 1 + 2 together and cornea maybe too thin .

Can i just ask what is the craze with this Dr Theng? Why everyone choose to wait for him.. 🤔

i’m also not so sure about the actual day test and then straight away surgery thing, is that too rush? Maybe i’m old school but i thought it’s better to test then get yourself mentally prepared for the op kinda thing 😅

any other recommendation from EEC? And anybody knows roughly what is the waiting period for now from appt booking to actual day?

iirc he is like a pioneer in all this lasik related stuff and has plenty of experience.
1 thing aside is that cause my cousin did his with him so i just hop onto it using his referral code haha.
Yeah or can opt to test then decide with 2nd opinion. Some ppl do that too!

Would suggest you go for $5 eye screening without full consult ( cost $120- 250 +) to see if such high degree & Astig can treat by Lasik / PRK or not ? dont waste money if cannot and only otion left is ICL
Thanks for your advice. +1

Hi, I have gotten double confirmation from dr Natasha Lim and Shinagawa that I'm unsuitable for Lasik but a candidate for ICL. I was quoted $9000++ ish for the ICL, the price is actually the market rate. It's way out of my budget, are there other financial cost options that I can look out for?

With your high degree / astig there are no other options unfortunately. Dr Lim is already the most competitively priced in the market as some others charge $16K+ . Aside from saving up or taking their interest-free installment, I do not have any other suggestions.

Best of luck.

Hi Everyone!

Just contributing my experience here since I constantly read through forums when deciding what to do with my eyes back then.

I recently did transprk procedure with Dr Tony Ho at Clearvision. My degree/astig was 650/250 roughly for both eyes.

Day of procedure:
Very nervous! They put alot of numbing eye drops so the procedure wasn't painful. But very scary for me due to the sound effects and the feeling of wanting to close your eyes but can't. Dr Tony Ho was very reassuring during the procedure itself.
It hurts like hell - to the point I was nauseous about 30mins after the procedure. I faster pop in a painkiller and went to nap.

Day 1-4:
Not painful anymore, thank god. But the discomfort is real. My eyes were heavy/puffy/very hard to keep them open. I close my eyes about 90% of the time and listen to podcast/audiobook/sleep. Vision was about 20% during these days - kind of like the vision without your glasses (before doing the procedure) but clearer than that.

Day 5:
Finally! The discomfort is gone! Eyes can open fully. Vision is around 70%? Can generally look at stuff but not those small fonts. Minor minor discomfort as the lens is still in and gets abit dry.

Day 8:
Removal of bandage lens. Vision is about 70-80% after removal. Can see generally well but not small fonts. Abit sad because watching drama is still a blur ):
Eyes is still quite dry - just stick to the numerous eyedrops regime and should be good.

My follow-ups were all with Dr Huang, he is very nice, friendly and explains things clearly! He mention vision will slowly recover about 90% in the next week or so. Full recovery will take months - as your corneal starts to heal fully.

Fingers crossed!
