To correct the vision in this way is not very safe, but I hope the development of national medical skills in your country is mature.

Epilasik. Did around 2 yrs ago. At Eagle eye center by Dr Julian theng.

Quite sore eyes the following day and it lasted for about 3 days! :'(
Left eye not so bad, just felt achy, but right eye stung as if got soapy water in it. Cannot do anything involving eyes properly, ended up slept for 3 days. Is like that one, epi-lasik needs longer recovery time.

On the bright side, after 3 days, everything was rosy again, I think I even went to gym on 5th day for light workout, but remained quite light sensitive for a week or more I think.

Unlike normal lasik, my vision immediately after epi-lasik was blurrish and stayed that way for a few weeks afterwards. but its still good enough that I have no problems working on the computer with the screen over 30cm away though. Just that cannot see far off bus numbers.

After even more weeks, sight got sharper and sharper very fast, very quickly culminated with near perfect vision. Strangely enough, my right eye which had hurt the most became 0 myopia, but got ~25 degrees astig. Whereas my left eye has around 25 myopia, but zero astig. No complications after that, other than slightly dry eyes in the morning. No regression either :)

I think my initial myopia was 950 in left eye, 1050 in right eye. Astig was 150+ for each eye.

To reduce risk of scarring, must use Mitomycin C. I specifically told my doc to use it. Costs a bit extra only.

omg, looking at your post has given me hope.

my eyesight is somewhat similar to what you had previously.

my current spectacles is broken, so mum is deciding if i should go for lasik.

is there any clinic that i should look out for? or would a simple consultation at tan tock seng suffice?

Frankly I dunno, I'm a bit out of touch now. I would just recommend that you go to a clinic with a good track record, and a doctor with plenty of experience. flowerpod forums has a thread specifically reviewing various clinics and doctors. And also, if your corneas turn out to be thinner than average, then dun do it even if the doctor tells you its feasible.

Hi crandsf,

Did the clinic give you MC? Was thinking of doing epi-lasik also but the longer recovery period vs the number of paid annual leave I have; I'm still trying to work out something.

I have already done my Lasik evaluation and my cornea thickness is from 558 for the left eye and 568 for the right eye.

My myopia is 275 for the right eye and 300 for the left eye. And my astig is around 50 - 75.

In this case, can anyone advise that I'm generally okay for the procedure ?

If i'm not wrong there's side effects for lasik?

But having to wear glasses for more then 30 years, its refershing to wake up to clear vision every morning.

Numbers looks ok compared to mine, but your doctor's advice is much better.

Anyone gone for implantable contact lens? I suppose this is the new tech that takes over lasik because of the benefits it offers?

Pros and cons bah, At least lasik doesn't poke 3 holes right thru into your corneas.

ICL and Artisan lens differ in that ICL is basically sitting right above your natural lens, while artisan is a little more elevated. If ICL lens rub against your natural lens, you will have higher risk of cataracts. I forgot the cons of Artisan lens.
