TOPIK or KLPT more recognised? i m looking at level of recognition that would be somewhat like JLPT.

suppose i m looking at TOPIK elementary, would the content learnt upon completing the basic level at SKS be sufficient? comparatively, at NEX side would be completion of which level?

any comments on misterkorean?

They may have a certificate but also no use. Need to take the offical exam called the topik which is recognised.

If you want reliability and continuity in your learning, better go to SKS or nus. Their course run all the way from beginner to advanced class. So even if you stop half way, you can continue anytime. CC is more for casual learning.

Wait for nus. If you just look at price, it is worth it. If you want quality go nus/sks.

For TOPIK elementary, completion of SKS Intermediate 1 would be sufficient for a very good pass. For TOPIK intermediate, you need to complete at least SKS advance 3.

TOPIK has been around for a longer time and is a tougher exam since it has a compo section. But both klpt and topik are also recognised.

If I go CC, can ownself go register and take TOPIK anot ?

I don't have any knowledge about korean... can I go for intemediate then jump straight right into TOPIK elementary ?

SKS / NUS seems to be quite ex.. need to pay 500+ for E1, means will be spending 1.5k for the whole elementary course (500 x 3 = 1500)...

Yes you can register topik by yourself. The topik test is held at sks.

No you can't jump into intermediate class immediately because the class is progressive. Without the basics, you won't understand the intermediate materials. And for intermediate class, the teacher will only speak korean.

You can take the basic class at CC first and attend the topik preparation class at sks later. You must first know the hangeul alphabets and basic grammar forms.

Yes it is expensive. But many young ppl including jc, uni students who are not working are paying themselves too. If you work hard, then you find that you will get your money worth. If you are unsure whether you want to commit to learning Korean in the long run, you can try CC first.

Ok , thanks for your advice.

Btw, there's stage 1 and stage 2 elementary korean in the CC. Is it neccessary to go for stage 1 then stage 2? Can start with stage 2 first then 1 anot? :X

Does KPLT = TOPIK? I can also go to register for KPLT right?

There's a registration fee for it, isn't it?

I think it is stage by stage. After 1 then 2. But u can check with cc first.

KLPT is a different test from topik. Can register for KLPT too.
KLPT vs TOPIK « Hangukdrama and Korean
