Hi Minna-san,
Newbie here! Yoroshiku!
i have just taken my JLPT 3. now awaiting to start PA at ikoma. But have been thinking whether to take up JLPT 2 prep course? But at the same time, i wish to improve my conversation skills!

hello, haha, u are not the only one facing this dilemma.

1. if u are willing to spend 3 years to slowly learn and slowly built up jlpt 2 grammar and vocab and your conversational skills, pre-advanced is for you. you can really enjoy learning the language if you take it slowly

2. if u are like me, planning to try for next year's jlpt 2 before they change to the n series in 2010, taking jlpt 2 prep course would not be a bad choice, but must work hard and study reall hard, not only to pass, but to get good grades.

3. the best option i can think of, lol, that is if u have the spare cash. take ikoma's pre-advanced and jlpt 2 prep course together. the sensei (s) told me that there are some who take them together.

in the end, as what the sensei advised me, what is your target, taking an exam like jlpt and getting a recognised cert, or enjoy while learning jap. not to say that taking prep class is not enjoyable, but it is quite rush, so a lot of people might not enjoy it at all.

u got to think through it al by yourself, what u really want, and whether u will have enough time and are u willing to put in effort to get what u want. =)

Can change.
Go to the Japanese book counter with the receipt, explain your situation and how you wish they can help you. I had such experience before. I am happy with the service.
