ぎりぎり Pass N1. My JLPT journey has finally come to an end...

Congrats! =)

I think your next phase of Japanese learning has just started.
Cultural stuff, things that JLPT cannot teach you.
Do you know what is おひや or あかり or さはんじ? =)
Throughout my 13 trips to Japan, i have realised that there are lots of things which you can only discover for yourself when you go to Japan. Like why do people wake up at 6am in the morning of 1st Jan to go to the temple to pray, etc.

Hello dimitri_can,

not sure if i asked you this question before.. Any language schools you will recommend in Tokyo (as well as accommodation).. Im intending to do a 3 months course there this year (Oct-Dec).. Taking a 3 months break from work..

I'm more interested in doing a conversational course .. (passed N2, N3, Jlpt 3 and JLPT4).. Don't wish to hurry and rush for N1.. Just want to take things slowly.. And of course master the art of speaking in japanese.. . =D

Tokyo accomodation quite expensive. How about going to Fukuoka. Less expensive and also less chance of earthquake.

Try Genki Japanese and Culture School: Learn Japanese with the Best: Study Abroad at Fukuoka's top Japanese language schools or http://www.japanese-school-asahi.com/

I think i m qualified to teach N1 now. My student from 20 plus marks in Paper 1 jumped to 39 marks for 文字・語彙・読解 within 8 months of my teaching. =)

N4 class: 7 out of 8 passes. Top student: 156/180 (^_^)
N5 class: 3 out of 3 passes.

N5 mock papers

Hi I just passed my N5 so I want to give away my old mock papers.

1. Set of 5 complete mock papers including listening MP3s. Unfortunately I wrote my answers in the book with pen but I guess can always use correction fluid.

2. Set of 10 mock papers EXCLUDING listening. I complete 5 in erasable ink and left 5 blank because I didn't have time to finish it. (bought the book like just 4 days before the exam)

I found them really useful because the exam turned out to be really similar to those questions. Gives you a good feel of what to expect during the actual paper.

Pickup: Dhoby Ghaut or Serangoon MRT.

If anyone's interested, please PM me :)

**Have received PMs for the books already please don't send anymore requests

Thanks Dimitri san. Haha... But I am not so rich to go japan 13 times. In fact I have only been to Japan once.

But I think I learn a lot from jlpt too. When I first took japanese , I really hated みんなのにほんご (Minna no nihongo) textbooks. The conversation in the book were so dry and boring . The language was too formal and the japanese I learned is not the real japanese people use.

It was only when I entered the JLPT N2 prep class that I found learning fun. Although the learning curve was steep, I was learning useful grammars and reading compliacted texts which improved my Japanese tremendously. I can tell people confidently that I am learning real Japanese.

Haha... Yup. So anyone who is learning japanese, I would highly recommend you to take JLPT to N1 or N2 levels.
You would be surprised by how much you can improve when you start learning N2 and N1.

頑張って! 最後まで諦めないで。
Do not give up to the very end!
