I don't really understand the difference so i checked it up on the net.

「子供がいます」と「子供があります」の違いはなんでしょうか?

存在をあらわす「いる」と「ある」とは、一般に、生物が「いる」・非生物が「ある」ということになります。ただ、人間について「ある」といえることがあります。例えば、「そんなバカなことをするやつがあるか!」とか「私の発言をいろいろと批判する人があるようですが、」のようにいうことができます。「妻子ある人」とか、「その方面では知り合いがあります。」などの英語のhaveのような用法も、基本的には同じと考えられます。

ただし、このような人間を受ける「ある」には、用法上の制約があります。現代語では、人を受ける「ある」は、対象が不特定の人物である場合にしか用いることができません。つまり、「彼には3人の子がある。」とはいえますが、「?彼には太郎という子がある。」という言い方は不自然に感じられます。

「子供があります」というのは、子供がいるという〈存在の事実〉だけを話題にする表現です。子供の存在をはじめて話題にするとか、子供に関する具体的な事実を話題にしないとかいう場合に使われます。一方、「子供がいます」は、より一般的な意味で使うことのできる表現です。

Yep kinda. For aru, you don't know 100% about the person or rather the children in this case. It can be from hearsay, event, news etc that you came to know this person has a child and you are transmitting it to other person. I believe it's more often used together with sou, rashii etc.
But if you know the children, you wouldn't use aru cos it's rude to do so.

Btw, another good question for review.

 「あの人がいい先生です」と「あの人こそいい先生です」の文における格助詞「が」と係助詞「こそ」の意味の違いを考えてみなさい。

Not sure how to explain the difference...I know that こそ is used to emphasize あの人 though.
If translating, I would translate the first sentence as 'That person is a good teacher' and the second as 'That person is definitely a good teacher'.

Very little of the N1 kanzen master series at orchard kino.. I already have the 語彙 and 文法…

By the way, JCS beginner class registration is opening tomorrow. Level 5 is under construction so go level 3. Heard there will be 6 smaller rooms on level 5 next time.

Can anyone explain this word for me: チャラ男 ?

I know it means playboy but would like to know if anybody has used this word with your japanese friend and any other meanings to it.
