Oops, this sentece is supposed to be like this:"What I'm trying to say is this, what the small tsu does is that it legthens ONLY the consonant of the next kana letter after the small 'tsu',without the vowel like the example(shi.t.te imasu) above."

Im planning to register into JCS language school for elementary level on dec, but the website doesnt state the price for the course. I wonder if anyone could enlighten me here.

In terms of duration of the course, why is JCS taking 11months to complete a level while others took only 2 months? I choose JCS cos I was thinking I could build up a strong foundation because of the long duration.

I learned 1 yr earlier than you: July 1997. It is a pity that I couldn't continue learning in July 1998. So, now that I have time to learn, must make use of the time to learn this language.

Until now, I find that I still couldn't really remember Katagana + pronounce some of the difficult words (esp with small tsu with it).....

Hi. For my earlier questions, what I mean is

For Ja Ju Jo, is it only じゃ じゅ じょ?

Because for ji, there are 2 : し & ち with 2 " on its top.

it's best to make a trip down to JCS. It's rather central.....so shud not be a problem. For their normal lessons registration normally starts in the begining of the yr.

So how is everyone coping with their japanese studies? I just started on Basic 2 and already miss my Basic 1 Teacher *sniff*
Still having difficulty finding people to practice Japanese with! Seems that the class people never have the habit of practicing beyond the classroom.

For those taking the part time ikoma classes, do you have problems finding folks to practice with you after classes?

If you know where I can find anyone of any nationality speaking japanese and am interested to practice their english/chinese/japanese, let me know via PM, please. Thanks. I'll be so grateful.

Hi all,

Sorry to hijack this thread for a while. Does anyone know where I can rent Jap VCDs, with titles like Full Metal Alchemist, Anchorwoman ニュースの女 (1998) and Toshiie and Matsu / Love Shines Through 利家とまつ?

Thanks

For the seniors who watched taiga drama 大河ドラマ, do any of these shows adopt a more classical speech pattern as compared with the modern Japanese drama series?
