I heard that some language schools offer a two-week package to learn Japanese in Japan. Has anyone taken this package? How is it?

Hi I just want to say thank you to all for this insightful thread. I was in a fix trying to figure out which school I shld go for jap language. Bunka ? Ikoma ? JCS ? Eventually I settle with Ikoma

Yup. Now in Basic 1 Term 2. My course is also on Mon....

How come 2 days? Is it that 1.5 hrs per day [total hrs for 1 week: 3 hrs]?

Well it is 2.5hrs per day and it is 10 session. So overall is 30hours. I have not sign up for the Basic1Term2. Ah..most probably cos mine is part-time course ? Starts @6.50pm till 9.50pm. After work..I definitely must have preseverance to make it

I see.

As for your course, I believe you have not started your course [which is basic 1 term 1].

Once your course is approaching to the end like lesson 8 or 9, you will be asked whether you want to continue to study Japanese or not. If yes, once you finish this course [or rather, term], you will begin a new term [which is basic 1 term 2].

I have just finished my basic 1 term 1. Now just started my basic 1 term 2 [2nd lesson this week].

My course is also part-time course, from 6.50pm to 9.50pm every Mon.....

You should join the Japanese Language Meetup in Singapore. The meet up once a month, usually in Tea Chapter. They even organise additional meetings for JLPT, quite a few native japanese speaker too.

yep i joined them twice.. now they're studying quite hard for JLPT.. it's a whole sat event from morning till night at liang court macs.. they have a few jap natives, some zai JLPT1 cert holders and even one tokyo univ grad.. very interesting and fun group, can ask them any questions and they'll gladly help you..
